Aug 31, 2018 8:19 AM

The Dallas Cowboys will acquire offensive lineman Parker Ehinger from the Kansas City Chiefs for cornerback Charvarius Ward.

Ehinger was a fourth-round pick out of Cincinnati in 2016. He won a starting job as a rookie, but tore his ACL and only started in Week 17 last season.

Jerry Jones Wants To Fix Preseason With 18-Game Regular Season

Aug 28, 2018 9:31 AM

Jerry Jones brought out an old argument when discussing how to fix the NFL's preseason.

The Dallas Cowboys owner believes an 18-game regular season would be a valid solution.

"I was a big advocate in the last negotiation. I made the presentation," Jones said. "You can see how I did."

The owners weren't able to convince the players that a longer regular season was a good idea and the rising concern over concussions makes adding two games to the season unlikely.

The NFL has played four preseason games and 16 regular season games for 40 years. Jones is a proponent of an 18-2 season.

"I can make the case that we have an uptick in concussions in the preseason," he said. "If you look at it, I would contend there would be less exposure." Jones said.

Travis Frederick Diagnosed With Guillain-Barré Syndrome

Aug 22, 2018 10:24 PM

Travis Frederick announced he is suffering from Guillain-Barré syndrome, an autoimmune disease.

Frederick, a Pro Bowl center, was diagnosed with the disease after exhaustive tests conducted over the past few days. He has received treatments over the past 48 hours.

There is no timetable for Frederick to be cleared to play.

"I am feeling much better from an overall strength perspective," Frederick said in a statement Wednesday. "I will continue these treatments over the next few days. I am very optimistic about my condition and the immediate future, as I have been told that the illness was detected at a fairly early stage."

Cowboys Preferred Paxton Lynch, Connor Cook Over Dak Prescott

Aug 20, 2018 3:24 PM

The Dallas Cowboy had both Paxton Lynch and Connor Cook ahead of Dak Prescott on their board in 2016.

The cowboys spent 67 minutes late in the first round trying to move up to draft Lynch, offering their second and fourth round picks (34 and 101 overall) to Seattle for No. 26. Denver offered 31 and 94 overall, so Seattle asked the Cowboys to make it 34 and 67.

Jerry Jones was second guessing the decision the next day.

“I’m second-guessing the hell out of myself for not giving the three. I have always paid a premium for a premium. So many times my bargains have let me down,” said Jones to Peter King at the time.

The Cowboys then tried to trade up to draft Cook, but the Raiders jumped over Dallas.

Zack Martin Suffers Knee Injury

Aug 18, 2018 11:33 PM

Zack Martin suffered what looked like a serious knee injury in the second quarter of Saturday's preseason game.

Martin, who will undergo an MRI on Sunday, was hurt on a 7-yard run by Rod Smith, on which it appeared that the helmet of a Cincinnati defender hit Martin's knee. Martin limped off the field and spent a good portion of time in the medical tent before heading to the locker room.

"I think the initial evaluation on it was positive, but we'll certainly get that reconfirmed tomorrow," Jason Garrett said.

Martin signed a six-year extension in the offseason with $40 million in guaranteed money as he has emerged as one of the NFL's best guards.
