The Cowboys were 1-7 under Wade Phillips before the coach was fired and Jason Garrett took over. "I feel playing the way we are, we're building on something," tight end Jason Witten said. "To lose that way, it's hard."

Kitna Uncertain For Finale With Oblique Injury

Oct 11, 2014 5:10 PM

Jon Kitna may not be able to start for the Cowboys in their season finale against the Eagles next weekend. He left the team's loss to the Cardinals on Christmas night because of a left oblique muscle injury. "It's just injured, I guess," said Kitna, who left in the second quarter. "I can't do any athletic movements and things you got to do at quarterback. Anything that requires any torque."

Witten Believes Cowboys More Accountable Under Garrett

Sep 12, 2014 7:39 PM

Jason Witten notices a change in how the Cowboys have responded under the tutelage of head coach Jason Garrett. ?I think everybody has been accountable since Jason has taken over,? Witten said. ?He?s done a great job of laying out the guidelines and really giving us the best chance to go out and be successful. Obviously this wasn?t the way we wanted to start the season, being 1-7, but since he?s taken over we?ve really played a lot better football and just gone out and won games. My hat is off to him, he?s done a great job of giving us a game plan to go out and execute.?

Dallas Places Romo On Injured Reserve

Oct 11, 2014 9:11 PM

Tony Romo is done for the season after the Cowboys opted to place him on the injured reserve Tuesday. He has been out since breaking his left collarbone Oct. 25. "When you just start doing the math on it and say, 'Where is he with this injury? Where is he physically functioning? Where is he being able to take a hit? And then, how much practice time you need to have any player be ready to play in a game?' " Cowboys interim coach Jason Garrett said. "We just felt when we factored all those things together, it just made sense to make this move."

Cowboys May Place Romo On IR

Sep 12, 2014 7:39 PM

Even any chance of Tony Romo returning this season may come to an end soon if the Cowboys opt to place him on the injured reserve. Romo has been out since he suffered a fractured left collarbone eight weeks ago against the Giants. Dallas owner/general manager Jerry Jones said Romo's recovery time has gone slower than expected. "If he were healthy, he would practice," Jones said. "We are a little behind where I thought we would be on how healthy he is."

Romo Isn't Ready For Return Against Cardinals

Jun 11, 2014 1:56 PM

Tony Romo isn't ready to return for the Cowboys this Sunday against the Cardinals, according to team owner Jerry Jones. "As I stand here, he's not ready to play," Jones said. Romo isn't even healthy enough to practice. He broke his collarbone against the Giants earlier this season. "Frankly, he's still having sensitivity there," Jones said. "If he were healthy, he would play. We are a little behind where I thought we'd be on how healthy he is."

Choice Defends Asking Vick For Autograph

Sep 12, 2014 7:39 PM

Tashard Choice has defiantly challenged anybody who questioned his competitiveness in the wake of him asking opponent Michael Vick for his autograph. The Cowboys running back approached the Eagles quarterback after Philadelphia beat Dallas this past Sunday night. "Am I more competitive if I would have tried to fight him after the game?" Choice said. "What would you say then? If we would have won the game? Sixty minutes is from the beginning to the end. That's all you play in a football game. When a game's over, it's over. "There's no fan, there's no coach, there's no person in media who cares more about a game, winning or losing, that I'm playing in. I play -- you see what I'm saying? -- and I give everything I've got for 60 minutes. That's it. If you've got something to say, cool. Be in the NFL. Play. That's cool. You've got your opinion, and I've got mine."
