Amari Cooper: Raiders Weren't Using Me The Best Way

Dec 2, 2018 8:39 PM

Amari Cooper is thrilled to be with the Dallas Cowboys, who traded a first-round pick to the Oakland Raiders for the wide receiver earlier this season.

Cooper said he "wasn't really happy in Oakland" and that the Cowboys are using him much more prolifically than the Raiders did.

"I looked at it totally different than most people looked at it," Cooper said. "[The Raiders] basically said, 'We could get a guy, who's going to contribute better than he will, in the first round.' And I didn't know how to feel about that.

"I just always felt like I wasn't really being used how I felt like I would have used me if I was the coach. So I looked at it from that perspective, not from the perspective that, 'Oh, they don't think I'm good enough' or I'm not good enough.

"I never had those questions in my mind. At all."

Cooper has been targeted on 24.4 percent of his routes with the Cowboys. The number was just 15.4 percent with the Raiders.

Cowboys Worth $10 Billion To Jerry Jones

Nov 19, 2018 2:25 PM

Jerry Jones wouldn't sell the Dallas Cowboys for any price, but if he had to sell, he says he wouldn't take less than $10 billion for the franchise.

Forbes values the Cowboys at $5 billion.

"If I had to sell the team tomorrow I wouldn’t accept anything less than $10 billion. But, I don’t want to imply that I would take $10 billion for them. The Cowboys are just not for sale. They’re a long-term asset and my immediate family -- which has been a part of making them what they are today-- they’ll own the Cowboys long after I’m gone.

"I don’t say $10 billion just to say a ridiculous number. I just think you really have to go on what people would pay. I don’t want to say at least $10 billion but I certainly think you can justify a $10 billion value, but economically I’d rather have the Cowboys than the $10 billion."

Ezekiel Elliott: Eagles Game A 'Must-Win' For Cowboys

Nov 8, 2018 8:14 AM

The Dallas Cowboys are 3-5 and Ezekiel Elliott says this Sunday night's game against the Philadelphia Eagles is a "must-win."

"One hundred percent, yeah. It's a must-win," Elliott said. "Being a division game, that makes it that much more important. So I mean definitely it's a must-win."

The Cowboys are two games back in the NFC East, but have four division games left.

"We've definitely talked about having that mentality -- us versus the world," Elliott said. "We've got to go out there and win as many ballgames as we can to give ourselves an opportunity to get in the playoffs. We need to attack that the right way and prepare so we're ready."

Jerry Jones Confirms Dak Prescott Remains Cowboys' Long-Term QB

Nov 6, 2018 3:17 PM

Jerry Jones confirmed Dak Prescott remains the quarterback of Dak Prescott.

"Listen, Dak is the quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys," Jones said. "He's young and he's going to get extended."

The Cowboys are 3-5 at the midway point to the season and Prescott has thrown for 1,660 yards with 10 touchdown passes and five interceptions.

There was speculation before the season that Prescott could be in line for a $100 million extension if he had a great season.

Cowboys Won't Make In-Season Coaching Change

Nov 6, 2018 9:30 AM

Jerry Jones says the Dallas Cowboys won't make an in-season coaching change.

The status of Jason Garrett remains uncertain as the Cowboys fell to 3-5 this season.

"I think we realize we have eight games to go, we've got a long way to go in this season," Jones said. "We want to play better than we played tonight, so I certainly think each individual and coach and front-office person is going to have to do better, including me."

When asked if there could be a change with offensive coordinator Scott Linehan, Jones said, "I'm not anticipating any more coaching changes."
