Titans Rule Out Eight, Derrick Henry Doubtful For TNF

Dec 29, 2022 8:18 AM

Derrick Henry is doubtful for Thursday night's matchup between the Tennessee Titans and Dallas Cowboys.

The Titans have ruled out eight players already as the team's season will likely come down to a Week 18 battle with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Titans (7-8) and Jaguars (7-8) will play in the final week of the season with the AFC South division title at stake regardless of their Week 17 outcomes.

Dak Prescott: Eagles Showdown 'Statement To Ourselves'

Dec 22, 2022 8:28 AM

Dak Prescott believes the Dallas Cowboys can make a statement with a win over the rival Philadelphia Eagles on Saturday.

"If anything, it's about making a statement to ourselves," Prescott said. "It's about, as you look at the season, we've had some games where we played really well and some games where we bit ourselves in the foot and had some games where we didn't and we lost. So yeah, this is about putting our best foot forward, putting our best effort out there and proving it to ourselves in all three phases that we're a hell of a team and we can go get it done against one of the best teams in the league whether they're in our division or not."

The Eagles (13-1) will win the division and claim home-field advantage in the playoffs with one win in their final three games.

In October, the Eagles beat the Cowboys 26-17 at Lincoln Financial Field.

"You lose the first one, you can't wait to see them again, so I mean, I wouldn't say it's anything specific to this team," Ezekiel Elliott said. "I think it would be like that with any team in our division. But, I mean, yeah, definitely want to see the team again. It's just part of being a competitor and loving this game."

Cowboys Less Likely To Sign Odell Beckham Jr.

Dec 20, 2022 12:13 PM

Jerry Jones believes it is appearing less likely that the Dallas Cowboys sign Odell Beckham Jr. this season.

"As of this morning we don't have anything," Jones said, adding, "The reality is though that time is moving on down the road relative to playing in the playoffs and so every day diminishes our chances of going forward."

If Beckham joined the Cowboys, the plan was to place him on injured reserve after he spent a day on the active roster as he returns from a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee suffered in last season's Super Bowl. He would have to miss four games on injured reserve, which if he were to sign this week, would mean he would miss at least the wild-card round of the playoffs.

Cowboys Clinch Playoff Berth Despite Loss

Dec 19, 2022 9:08 AM

The Dallas Cowboys suffered an overtime loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday, but still clinched a playoff berth later in the day when the Washington Commanders lost to the New York Giants.

The Cowboys will be in the playoffs in back-to-back years for the first time since 2006-07.

"This is about momentum right now heading into the postseason," Dak Prescott said. "Sure, we lost, but there was a lot of good in this game too, so it's about just continuing to push forward and understanding the men that we have in this locker room and understanding what we've done up to this point and the foundation that we've laid and just continue to try and grow and get out of these errors.

"Whether it's my interceptions or whatever it may be, eliminate the bad, build on the good and create momentum heading into the postseason."

Micah Parsons On Philadelphia: 'Pretty Sure They Hate Me'

Dec 16, 2022 8:30 AM

Micah Parsons is aware of the controversy he stirred up in Philadelphia this week.

"I'm pretty sure they hate me," the Dallas Cowboys linebacker said.

Appearing on "The Voncast" with Von Miller recently, Parsons asked, "When you look at the Eagles, is it [Jalen] Hurts or the team?"

When Miller responded, "I think it's a little bit of both, man," Parsons said, "It's system and team!"

A few Philadelphia Eagles responded to the comments on Wednesday.

"I'm going to worry about the Chicago Bears this week, mate, worry about this game. Micah should worry about his game this week, too. I don't know who the f--- they're playing, pardon my language. Just worry about who you got this week," Jordan Mailata said. "That's how we do it here. I'm not going to worry about any other comments anybody said. That's just how we focus and run about our business. We've got the Chicago Bears, not the Chicago Micah Parsons."

On Thursday, Parsons was asked whether he wanted to clarify his comments

"I mean, you've got to stand on everything you say just as a man, but obviously, they small-clipped it and took one line of what was really talked about," Parsons said. "But no pun intended or no disrespect to Hurts, I think he's doing great this year. But you know me, I'm a defensive guy and I said the Eagles' defense is the team to watch. They just got helluva players over there that's been making plays all year, so from a defensive aspect, I know how offensive guys get all the credit, so I just want to stick up for the defensive guys because the conversation was most valuable player, is it just quarterback?

"Sometimes, I say, 'I know a couple of defensive guys who deserve to be in that conversation,' or even other positions, you know. Even receivers. Look at what Tyreek Hill is doing this year. So it's nothing towards no quarterbacks or anything like that. It's about most valuable player and what people bring to their team. That's what the conversation was about. That's just where I stand on it."

The Eagles and Cowboys will face off on Christmas Eve.

Odell Beckham Jr. visited the Cowboys last week, but he is not as close to a return as they had previously assumed.

Micah Parsons: Odell Beckham Said He'd Be Ready In Five Weeks

Dec 8, 2022 8:34 AM

Micah Parsons said Wednesday that Odell Beckham, Jr. told him he would be ready to play in five weeks, a timeline that would put him on track to play in the first round of the playoffs.

According to a report, the Dallas Cowboys have concerns that Beckham won't be ready to play until "mid-January." The team has also considered that signing him wouldn't help them on the field until next season.

However, Josina Anderson reported Beckham was still visiting with the Cowboys and feels like he is "able to contribute to the playoffs this season" after joining a team and getting familiar with their playbook and his new teammates.

LeBron 'Disappointed' By Lack Of Questions About Jerry Jones Picture

Dec 1, 2022 8:49 AM

LeBron James answered questions from reporters on Wednesday night and then pivoted by asking the media a question of his own.

James wanted to know why he wasn't asked about a photograph that recently surfaced showing Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, at the age of 14, peering over a crowd of white students who were attempting to block six Black students from entering the doors of North Little Rock High School in 1957?

"I got one question for you guys before you guys leave. I was thinking when I was on my way over here, I was wondering why I haven't gotten a question from you guys about the Jerry Jones photo," James said. "But when the Kyrie [Irving] thing was going on, you guys were quick to ask us questions about that."

On Nov. 23, The Washington Post published a story examining Jones' track record of failing to hire Black coaches during his tenure owning the Cowboys. Included within the story was the black-and-white photo depicting a young Jones observing the harassment of the Black students a couple of yards in front of him.

James said, "When I watch Kyrie talk and he says, 'I know who I am, but I want to keep the same energy when we're talking about my people and the things that we've been through,' and that Jerry Jones photo is one of those moments that our people, Black people, have been through in America. And I feel like as a Black man, as a Black athlete, as someone with power and a platform, when we do something wrong, or something that people don't agree with, it's on every single tabloid, every single news coverage, it's on the bottom ticker. It's asked about every single day.

"But it seems like to me that the whole Jerry Jones situation, photo -- and I know it was years and years ago and we all make mistakes, I get it -- but it seems like it's just been buried under, like, 'Oh, it happened. OK, we just move on.' And I was just kind of disappointed that I haven't received that question from you guys."

Jones, when asked about the 65-year-old photograph, told reporters last week that he was merely present as a curious onlooker and did not engage in discrimination against the Black students.

"I didn't know at the time the monumental event really that was going on," Jones said. "I'm sure glad that we're a long way from that. I am. That would remind me [to] just continue to do everything we can to not have those kinds of things happen."
