Aug 26, 2018 9:01 PM

Beyond strictly looking at wins and losses, DVOA by Football Outsiders gives a clear picture of team performance.

The following Infographic shows the past 10 years of DVOA rankings (2008-2017) for the Baltimore Ravens.

Other than a post-Super Bowl dip in 2013, the Ravens have been one of the NFL's most consistently competitive teams over the past decade.

During the four-year stretch before winning the Super Bowl, the Ravens ranked 2nd, 1st, 4th and 7th in DVOA while reaching the Conference Championship twice and the Divisional Round twice.

According to DVOA, the Ravens were the best team in the NFL in 2017 to not reach the playoffs.

Lamar Jackson: 'Hope People Know I Can Throw'

Aug 26, 2018 7:35 AM

Lamar Jackson had a good performance as the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Miami Dolphins 27-10 on Saturday night.

Jackson went 7-of-10 for 98 yards and a touchdown in Baltimore's third preseason game.

"I hope people know I can throw now, even though I had a low percentage," Jackson said while walking off the field. "But it's all good. We had fun and came out with a win."

In three preseason games, Jackson has completed 41.9 percent of his passes (18-of-43), which was the lowest among all qualifying quarterbacks. In five drives against the Dolphins, Jackson finished with 137 yards of total offense and a 134.6 passer rating.

"I think today was his breaking out in a game," John Harbaugh said. "We've seen it in practice, where he's done some really good things. We hadn't really seen it in a game yet. Today just kind of fell in place for him a little bit."

Jimmy Smith Suspended Four Games For Domestic Violence Incident

Aug 21, 2018 7:15 PM

Jimmy Smith was suspended Tuesday by the NFL for the first four games of the regular season for violating the league's personal conduct policy.

Smith is the top cornerback on the Baltimore Ravens.

Smith's discipline stems from a domestic violence incident last November involving the mother of his first child.

"I would like to sincerely apologize to my former girlfriend, the NFL, the Ravens organization, my coaches, my teammates, my fiancée and all our fans. I'm very disappointed that my past actions have led to this suspension," Smith said in a statement. "I promise that I have already learned much and will continue to learn more from this experience. I believe I am, and will continue to try to be, a better person and a better father because of this. I am committed to being the best I can be, both on and off the field.

"I take full responsibility for my past conduct. Moving forward, I will work with the NFL and the Ravens to ensure that what happened in the past will never happen again. I will take all necessary steps to be a positive role model for both my sons, for the NFL and for the entire Ravens community."
