Haloti Ngata Suspended Four Games For PED Use

Dec 4, 2014 4:23 PM

Haloti Ngata has been suspended for the rest of the regular season for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances, the team announced Thursday.

Ngata, a five-time Pro Bowl defender, received a four-game suspension from the NFL, and he's eligible to return for the playoffs if the Ravens make the postseason.

"I made a mistake, and I own this," Ngata said in a statement. "I took Adderall and take full responsibility for doing this. I am deeply sorry and broken up over this. I let down my family, my teammates, Ravens fans and myself. My hope is that the Ravens make the playoffs, and I believe they can do this. And, then I can come back and help us win."

The Baltimore Ravens will turn to second round pick Timmy Jernigan to replace Ngata at defensive tackle.

Ray Rice Hopes Team Gives Him Second Chance

Dec 4, 2014 2:57 PM

Ray Rice wants a second chance in the NFL and hopes that any team interested in signing him will "look deeper into who I am."

Rice said potential suitors would have to understand that he and wife Janay "had one bad night."

"They would have to be willing to look deeper into who I am and realize that me and my wife had one bad night, and I took full responsibility for it," Rice said. "And one thing about my punishment and everything going along with anything that happened is that I've accepted it. I went fully forward with it. I never complained, or I never did anything like that. I took full responsibility for everything that I did, and the only thing I can hope for and wish for is a second chance."

At least four teams have expressed interest in Rice, including the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints.
