Minshew: Yannick Ngakoue Will Be 'Out For Blood' Against Jaguars

Dec 18, 2020 8:19 AM

Gardner Minshew expects former teammate Yannick Ngakoue to be motivated to face the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

"Now Yannick's going to be out for blood," Minshew said.

Ngakoue forced his way out of Jacksonville four months ago by repeatedly voicing his dissatisfaction. He was traded to the Minnesota Vikings before being dealt again to the Baltimore Ravens at midseason.

"I'm just treating it as another game," Ngakoue said. "We need the rest of these wins to get to where we need to get to. At the end of the day, I had my time with Jacksonville, you know that's not a secret. At the end of the day, I'm just going to treat it like another game, another Sunday."

Lamar Jackson Believes Cramping Related To COVID-19 Recovery

Dec 16, 2020 5:14 PM

Lamar Jackson believes the cramping he suffered during Monday's win at the Cleveland Browns could have been caused by his COVID-19 recovery.

“Probably. Probably because of the body heat and we’re running in the cold,” Jackson said, via Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com. “It was so cold out there. That probably had an effect on that as well. I can’t call it.”

Jackson reiterated that he was “real-life cramping, like my hand, my throwing arm cramping, forearm cramping.”

NFL Says It Followed COVID-19 Protocols With Dez Bryant

Dec 10, 2020 8:32 AM

The NFL insisted Wednesday that it did not cut any corners with contact tracing after Dez Bryant tested positive for the coronavirus a half hour before kickoff against the Dallas Cowboys on Tuesday.

Bryant was on the field participating in individual warm-ups about an hour before the Baltimore Ravens were notified of his inconclusive test result. The NFL did not identify any high-risk close contacts after interviewing Bryant as well as other club personnel and reviewing data from his contact-proximity tracker.

"I can tell you with complete certainty that our same exact contact-tracing process was followed last night as what we do in every single case," said Dr. Allen Sills, the NFL's chief medical officer. "The fact that we were able to do it fairly quickly is not reflective of a lack of thoroughness in the process. It's just simply the amount of data that was available to be sorted through allowed us to do that."

Ravens Have Two More Positives; Game Still On

Dec 2, 2020 8:27 AM

The Baltimore Ravens arrived in Pittsburgh on Tuesday night and Wednesday's game against the Steelers is still on, according to sources.

The Ravens had two more positive COVID-19 tests before departing Tuesday.

The results are "not unexpected and not a concern for the game," the source said.

The Ravens will be tested again Wednesday before the game with point-of-care tests that return results within 30 minutes. They have had 10 straight days of positive tests as they prepare to play the undefeated Steelers in a game that has been postponed three times.
