Lamar Jackson Dubs LB Patrick Queen 'Ray Lewis, Jr.'

Apr 24, 2020 9:42 AM

Lamar Jackson has placed high expectations on Baltimore Ravens rookie Patrick Queen.

Baltimore used the No. 28 pick on Queen, a linebacker out of LSU.

After the Ravens made the pick, Jackson shouted, "Ray Lewis Jr.!" on Instagram Live.

Like Lewis, Queen fell to Baltimore in the bottom of the first round. Lewis was the No. 26 overall pick in 1996.

Asked about the comparison to Lewis, Queen said, "When you think about Ray Lewis, you think about an elite linebacker -- speed, physicality, aggression, dominance. I feel like I'm more mobile than he was. Not taking anything away from him, he was a great linebacker, probably the best to play. But I've got a lot to live up to. The bar is set high."

Jackson also said he isn't worried about any curses associated with being on the cover.

"Patrick Mahomes is on the front and he won [Super Bowl] MVP," Jackson said. "I want that curse. I hope that's a curse."

John Harbaugh Worried Virtual Draft Could Be Hacked

Apr 7, 2020 4:31 PM

The NFL is going to rely almost solely on technology for the 2020 NFL Draft, which has some in the league concerned.

John Harbaugh is concerned about unauthorized entry into the Baltimore Ravens' videoconferencing during the April 23-25 event.

"Yeah, big concern," Harbaugh said. "Every time I read something in, like, the Wall Street Journal or the New York Times that talks about how messed up Zoom is, or some of these other deals . . . I immediately text it to our IT people, and [director of football administration] Nick Matteo's one of those guys, and they assure me that we are doing everything humanly possible. . . .

"We'll see what happens. I really wouldn't want the opposing coaches to have our playbook or our draft meetings. That would be preferable, if we can stay away from that."
