49ers Not Interested In Nick Foles, Colin Kaepernick

Sep 30, 2018 12:15 PM

The San Francisco 49ers are comfortable with starting C.J. Beathard at quarterback and aren't interested in acquiring a high profile quarterback such as Nick Foles or Colin Kaepernick.

Some within the NFL are hoping the 49ers would trade for Foles as they have five prime-time games on their schedule.

Some fans of the 49ers have lobbied the team to sign Kaepernick.

One team source said, they think Beathard will "be productive."

The 49ers lost Jimmy Garoppolo for the season due to a torn ACL.

49ers Fear Jimmy Garoppolo Suffered Torn ACL In Left Knee

Sep 23, 2018 6:17 PM

The San Francisco 49ers fear Jimmy Garoppolo tore the ACL in his left knee.

Garoppolo will have an MRI on Monday to confirm the extent of the injury, but the initial prognosis within the team is not positive.

"Any time you lose your starting quarterback, that's a big deal," Kyle Shanahan said. "It was when we lost our starting running back [Jerick McKinnon] too. So obviously -- I feel for [Garoppolo], personally; I know how disappointed he is. I haven't got a chance to see him yet, but I feel for him."

After gaining 13 yards, Garoppolo had the choice between stepping out of bounds or staying in and taking a hit from a defender. He took an awkward step with his left foot near the sideline, then rammed into Chiefs cornerback Steven Nelson at Kansas City's 7-yard line.

Josh Gordon Hopes To End Up With 49ers, Cowboys

Sep 16, 2018 10:11 AM

Josh Gordon will be released or traded by the Cleveland Browns and he hopes to end up with either the San Francisco 49ers and the Dallas Cowboys.

The Browns provided no details behind their decision to part ways with Gordon, but a source told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that he broke the team's "trust" when he reported to the facility Saturday with a hamstring issue after being a full participant in practice all week.

Gordon will have no says in where he is traded but Gordon is hopeful that it's to a place that can provide the support and understanding what his needs.

Richard Sherman, Michael Bennett Nearly Fought Over Russell Wilson

Sep 7, 2018 1:32 PM

Following a loss to the Green Bay Packers in 2016, Richard Sherman and Michael Bennett nearly had a physical confrontation over Russell Wilson.

Wilson threw five interceptions against a mediocre Green Bay defense.

Sherman proposed confronting Wilson in a private setting to ask what the issue was as they would routinely do with other players.

“That was a common thing to do, because often it was some outside factor affecting guys, family stuff, and you’d work through that,” one former player says.

Bennett took issue with Sherman's stance, reminding him that the Seahawks only had one quarterback.

The two needed to be separated.

Jerick McKinnon Tears ACL On Final Play Of Practice

Sep 2, 2018 11:12 AM

The San Francisco 49ers have lost Jerick McKinnon to a torn right ACL, which he suffered while making a cut on the last play of practice Saturday.

McKinnon missed most of the preseason with a calf strain suffered in practice Aug. 12. He was working his way up to speed and was expected to be ready for the September 9 opener against the Minnesota Vikings.

The 49ers signed McKinnon to a four-year, $30 million deal in the offseason.

With McKinnon injured, San Francisco is left with Matt Breida, Alfred Morris and Raheem Mostert at running back.
