Kaepernick, Gore Overrule Harbaugh On TD Play Call

Jul 11, 2014 1:07 AM

Colin Kaepernick and Frank Gore decided to change the play call from Jim Harbaugh that led to a two-yard touchdown to extend the San Francisco 49ers' lead to 27-17 in the fourth quarter.

“We had a different play call and Frank said he wanted the same thing,” Kaepernick said, via Matt Maiocco of CSNBayArea.com. “I wasn’t about to argue with him.

“I don’t think Coach was too mad because we scored. So it was all right.”

“I kind of saw the defense, how they were playing, and we were at what? The inch line,” Gore said. “And the ‘backers were playing like 5 yards back. I knew it was a quick hit, and I know I quick-hitted it. I barreled through. I knew they were going to come on top of me because my running style is low.

“I’m happy he listened to me. That the thing I love about Kap. He listens to his teammates.”

Jim Harbaugh Wants To Remain With 49ers

Dec 9, 2014 7:45 PM

Jim Harbaugh is in the third season of a five-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers, but there have been reports of interest in the Texas Longhorns' job.

There also have been reports of friction between Harbaugh and general manager Trent Baalke.

"Absolutely," said Harbaugh when asked on Thursday if he's still happy with the 49ers.

"It's the 49er way," said Harbaugh. "It's the team, the team, the team. Everybody does a little, and it adds up to be a lot. Nobody above the team. Nobody more important. Nobody less important. Hundreds of people in this organization, and we all have a role and we all contribute to the best of our ability. And that's the team, the team, the team. We win as a team. That's how we do it."

49ers Likely Lose Bruce Miller For Remainder Of Season

Oct 13, 2014 11:53 AM

The San Francisco 49ers will likely be without Bruce Miller for the remainder of the season.

Miller, starting fullback for the 49ers, sustained a serious injury to his left shoulder blade in the 49ers' win on Sunday over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Miller was a Pro Bowl alternate in 2012 and played even better in 2013.

“It’s a very significant loss,” Jim Harbaugh said. “He does so many things in pass protection and the run game, plus receiving out of the backfield. He’s a multi-talented and multi-use player. That’s a loss.”
