The Kansas City Chiefs are interested in trading for Nick Foles if he becomes available.
Andy Reid became head coach of the Chiefs this offseason and wants to add a quarterback.
Former NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah, now an NFL.com analyst, reported Reid and Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson, an assistant coach with the Eagles under Reid, "were very high on Nick Foles and his future."
The Chiefs own the No. 1 overall pick but are unlikely to use it on a quarterback.
Alex Smith is also a possibility for the Chiefs.
Dennis Dixon has signed a two-year deal with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Dixon has prior experience running Chip Kelly's offense during their time together at Oregon.
In four career NFL games, Dixon has completed 59.3 percent of his passes for 402 yards, one touchdown, two interceptions and a passer rating of 71.4.
The Eagles are expected to have a three-way competition at quarterback between Michael Vick, Nick Foles and Dixon.
The Philadelphia Eagles have hired Tom Gamble as vice president of player personnel.
Gamble has 24 seasons of NFL experience and was most recently director of player personnel for the 49ers.
Gamble's father Harry Gamble was once president of the Eagles.
“Since Ryan Grigson left to become the general manager of the Colts, we’ve been looking for the right person to fill his spot and we are excited about what Tom can bring to the team,” Howie Roseman said in a statement. “He’s not only a talented evaluator, but also a good man and the type of person you want as a part of your team.
“Tom and I have had a great relationship over the years and I know he’s excited to come home. He had a great run in San Francisco and they have been very successful over the last few years. He will jump right in with our group and get working on free agency and the draft.”
Michael Vick believes he can be rejuvenated as a running quarterback under Chip Kelly.
"In 2006 I ran for 1,000 yards -- and it wasn't hard," Vick said. "The only thing you have to do is train. I feel like I can still do that. To what level, I don't know, but I feel like I can do it at a high level."
Vick has missed 13 games over three seasons as the starting quarterback of the Eagles.
"You have to be very cautious and meticulous about what you're doing on the field, but not to the point where it takes away from your game. Once you start trying not to get hurt, that's when you get hurt," Vick said. "I think what I have to do is just go out and play lights-out football, and not worry about getting hurt. I think over the last two years, I was trying to protect myself, trying to be sure that I was out on the football field with my teammates, just putting too much effort into not being injured. When you do that, it slows you down just half a second. I think when you're able to just go out and say, 'today I'm going to give it everything I've got' and leave it all out on the field, that's when you have the most success."
Michael Vick's new deal with the Philadelphia Eagles includes a $1 million bonus if the franchise wins the Super Bowl and he plays in the game.
The deal has a base salary of $3.5 million and a $3.5 million signing bonus.
There is an additional $500,000 in roster bonuses and $1.5 million if he plays in 90 percent of the Eagles' snaps on offense.
The Philadelphia Eagles have agreed upon a restructured one-year contract for the 2013 season.
Vick will be given a new shot with the Eagles and run the offense of Chip Kelly.
Vick's deal in 2013 will be worth as much as $10 million and he will be eligible for unrestricted free agency next offseason.
Vick was previously scheduled to make $15.5 million.
The Philadelphia Eagles have hired Billy Davis as their new defensive coordinator.
Davis spent the past two seasons as linebackers coach for the Browns.
Davis was the Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator from 2009-2010 and the San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator from 2005-2006.
Michael Vick was not released on Wednesday by the Philadelphia Eagles.
The Eagles will be off the hook financially for Vick's $3 million roster bonus as long his new team, should he leave the franchise, pay him at least that much.
"There's no real urgency on our part to do something this minute," according to an Eagles' source.
Vick is a hypothetical fit for Chip Kelly's offense, but it remains to be seen if he will take a pay cut.
The Philadelphia Eagles are in contract discussions with Dennis Dixon, according to sources.
Dixon played at Oregon for Chip Kelly.
Kelly has said that the Eagles would not run the same offense he used at Oregon.
Dixon spent the 2012 season on the Baltimore Ravens' practice squad.
The Eagles currently have Michael Vick, Nick Foles and Trent Edwards on their roster for 2013.
