Terrelle Pryor Would Be Perfect QB For Kelly's System

Jul 7, 2014 11:01 AM

When Terrelle Pryor was coming out of high school, he strongly considered committing to Oregon before eventually deciding upon Ohio State.

With Chip Kelly now head coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, Pryor appears to be the ideal quarterback for that offense.

"That offense is tailor-made for Terrelle," said Ray Reitz, who coached Pryor at Jeannette High School in western Pennsylvania. "He can run. He can throw. He's big and strong. He's the total package. I think he'd flourish in that offense."

"Chip was one of my favorites," Pryor said in a conference call. "I probably would have been with him if he was a little closer. It's pretty out there, Oregon was, and it wasn't a good distance for my family. That wasn't a good deal for me."

"There are two guys that I've had an opportunity to coach against - Cam Newton and Terrelle Pryor - that when you look at them, they kind of look like an NBA power forward, but they can run," said Pryor.

Chip Kelly Against Tanking Strategy For Eagles

Oct 31, 2014 9:19 PM

Chip Kelly has heard suggestions that the Philadelphia Eagles could be better off losing games over the remainder of the season in an effort to have a higher draft pick.

"We're all about winning games," Kelly said Wednesday. "If we start planning long term, I might not be here long term."

The Philadelphia 76ers are essentially conceding the 13-14 NBA season in order to have a high draft pick.

"It doesn't come in," Kelly said. "It's about beating Oakland. That's it. It's a one-week season, and that's all there is. Last week, it was beating the Giants. There wasn't, 'Hey, what are we going to be like next year, let's active G.J. (Kinne, the practice squad quarterback) and throw him into the mix.' That's not our mentality."

Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III have quickly improved their respective teams, though the Seattle Seahawks drafted Russell Wilson in the third round and Colin Kaepernick was a second round pick in 2011 by the San Francisco 49ers.

Vick Needs Another Week Of Rehab On Hamstring

Oct 15, 2014 6:38 PM

Michael Vick needs another week of rehab on his injured hamstring.

Vick said he was only at "60, 65 percent" last week.

Nick Foles is expected to start in Week 7 against the Dallas Cowboys.

"I feel it getting better," Vick said. "It's just when I try to burst, that knot is still there. I think another week of rehab can put me in position where I can start gaining some confidence in it and doing things I normally do. ... It can be re-aggravated quickly. Because mine is up so high, and the way I run, I've got to take precautions. I can't overdo it. If I do, it can be another two to three weeks."
