The Washington Commanders have released Carson Wentz, which will save the team $26.17 million against the cap.

Wentz started seven games for the Commanders in 2022 posting a QBR of 33.0 and a 2-5 record.

Wentz went 9-8 as the starter of the Indianapolis Colts in 2021.

The Green Bay Packers have released Sammy Watkins.

Watkins has caught 13 balls for 206 yards this season with the Packers.

The Los Angeles Rams have claimed Baker Mayfield on waivers.

The Rams will now inherit the remaining $1.35 million on Mayfield's contract.

Mayfield could play for the Rams in Thursday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. 

The Carolina Panthers have waived Baker Mayfield. Mayfield requested his release. 

Mayfield is 1-5 in six starts this season for the Panthers, with a QBR of 18.2

The San Francisco 49ers have an obvious need at quarterback following the season-ending injury to Jimmy Garoppolo. 

The Los Angeles Chargers have waived Jerry Tillery, a first round pick in the 2019 draft.

The Chargers had listed Tillery as a non-participant due to personal reasons the past two days of practice.

"This was not an easy decision but, after careful consideration, it was a necessary one that is in the best interest of both team and player," general manager Tom Telesco said in a statement released by the team. "We wish Jerry all the best moving forward in his career."

Tillery is expected to be claimed.

The Kansas City Chiefs have released Josh Gordon.

Gordon said a public farewell to the Chiefs and their fans in a pair of tweets Tuesday, appearing to confirm his exit.

"Appreciate all the @Chiefs kingdom has done for me and my family this past year. Thanks for the opportunity and the many memories," he tweeted and then added: "Excited to see where the next part of my football journey takes me #itsabusiness #dreamchasing."

Between 2014 and 2020, Gordon missed three full seasons while suspended. 

Gordon played in 12 games for the Chiefs last season with five catches, 32 yards and a touchdown. 

The New York Giants released cornerback James Bradberry on Monday in order to save around $10.1 million against the salary cap this season.

New general manager Joe Schoen was trying to find a trade for Bradberry since before free agency in March but couldn't find anything that worked for all parties involved. Schoen admitted last week he was surprised there wasn't more interest in the team's No. 1 cornerback.

"Yeah, I was," he said last Wednesday on WFAN Sports Radio. "I thought there would be more interest. There were some teams that showed interest pre-draft, and we had a couple different times there were compensation in place and the contract never worked out. Being the fact that we did have good talks with the other teams and their agents had good talks with teams, sometimes if you're going to renegotiate a contract and couldn't come to an agreement, it is what it is."

The Atlanta Falcons are releasing Mike Davis after one season with the team.

Davis, an Atlanta native, appeared to confirm his release, tweeting: "I appreciate everything the falcons did for me. I was able to play for my hometown and impact my community. I appreciate the fans and my family."

Davis, 29, started eight of 17 games last season, rushing 138 times for 503 yards and three touchdowns while catching 44 passes for 259 yards and one touchdown. 

The Chicago Bears have released Nick Foles after two seasons with the team. Foles started seven games in 2020 and just one in 2021 after the team drafted Justin Fields.

Foles, 33, was due a base salary of $4 million this season. The Bears will save $8 million against their salary cap with the move. 

A veteran of 10 seasons, Foles has thrown for 14,003 yards with 82 touchdowns and 43 interceptions.

The Dallas Cowboys have released La'el Collins, which will save them $10 million for 2022.

Collins signed a five-year, $50 million contract extension in 2019 that carried guaranteed money into this season. 

Over the past two seasons, Collins missed 21 of 33 games to injury or suspension.
