Patriots Release Austin Seferian-Jenkins

The New England Patriots have released Austin Seferian-Jenkins.

Seferian-Jenkins had signed a modest one-year, $895,000 contract on April 10, and he was vying for a roster spot at a position where the Patriots are transitioning without the retired Rob Gronkowski. The contract included just $50,000 in guaranteed money.

Seferian-Jenkins didn't attend New England's mandatory minicamp on Tuesday.

Buccaneers Release Gerald McCoy

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will release Gerald McCoy.

The Buccaneers elected not to pay him the $13 million he was owed for the 2019 season.

The Buccaneers may attempt to sign Ndamukong Suh as his replacement.

McCoy was the third overall pick by Tampa Bay in 2010 out of Oklahoma and is a six-time Pro Bowler.

Texans Release Ryan Griffin Following Vandalism Incident In Nashville

The Houston Texans have released Ryan Griffin.

Griffin is facing charges of vandalism and public intoxication for allegedly punching out a front window in a hotel last month in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Texans also selected tight end Kahale Warring out of San Diego State in the third round.

Police say Griffin, 29, was arrested for his own safety rather than given misdemeanor citations.

Griffin had 24 receptions for 305 yards last season with Houston and has 136 career receptions and seven touchdowns in six seasons.

Seahawks Release Doug Baldwin, Kam Chancellor

The Seattle Seahawks have released Doug Baldwin and Kam Chancellor after they failed their physical examinations.

Baldwin had surgery in the offseason to repair shoulder and groin injuries and he also had a knee procedure. Baldwin is widely expected to retire. Baldwin had remained silent on his future in recent weeks. 

Chancellor did not play last season due to a neck injury suffered in November 2017. Chancellor remained on Seattle’s roster last season for salary purposes and was on the physically unable to perform list but was not expected to play again following the injury.

Chiefs Release Eric Berry

The Kansas City Chiefs have released Eric Berry.

"I'd like to thank Eric for his contributions to our team and the Kansas City community over the last nine years," coach Andy Reid said Wednesday in a statement from the Chiefs. "Seeing his passion and watching his love for the game has been truly remarkable. He's a special person, and we wish him the best as his career moves forward."

The move comes following Kansas City's agreement with Tyrann Mathieu on a three-year, $42 million contract.

Berry was voted first-team All-Pro three times.

Berry's 2014 season was cut short by a lymphoma diagnosis, but he returned in time for the start of the next season

The Cleveland Browns have released leading tackler Jamie Collins.

Releasing Collins will only cost the Browns $2.5 million in cap space this season and saves them $9.25 million in cap costs in 2019 and $13.75 million in 2020.

Collins had been due to earn $10 million in salary in 2019 and $12 million in 2020.

The Baltimore Ravens have released Eric Weddle.

Weddle, however, doesn't plan to retire after turning 34 in January.

Weddle is a six-time Pro Bowler, including all three of his seasons with the Ravens.

Weddle had one year remaining on his contract at a base salary of $6.5 million. Baltimore created $7.5 million in cap space by cutting him.
