Jeremy Maclin Hopes To Re-Sign With Eagles

Dec 23, 2014 5:23 PM

Jeremy Maclin faces free agency this offseason and hopes to re-sign with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Maclin tore his ACL before the 2013 season and last winter signed a one-year, $5.5 million contract. He said at the time he hoped to work out a contract extension with the Eagles during the 2014 season.

Maclin changed agents in November. His former agent, Ben Dogra, was dismissed by his agency, CAA. Maclin opted to stay with CAA and is now represented by Tom Condon and John Caplin.

"I changed agents," Maclin said. "When you do that, it almost resets you a little bit. I want to be here, they want me here. We'll get something done."

Maclin became the Eagles' No. 1 receiver this season, catching 82 passes for 1,262 yards and 10 touchdowns.

"This is a great place to be," Maclin said Tuesday. "Everything that [owner Jeff] Lurie or Howie [Roseman, the GM] and Chip [Kelly, the head coach] has ever told me has always been true. Why wouldn't I want to be here? This is the place that drafted me. I want to end my career here. If we can get something worked out when the time is right, that's what will happen."

Nick Foles Ruled Out For Week 16

Dec 15, 2014 3:21 PM

Nick Foles will not be available to play for the Philadelphia Eagles in Saturday's game at Washington, Chip Kelly said Monday.

Foles' collarbone was examined early Monday. While it is healing, Foles cannot be subject to football contact until the bone has completely healed.

"The bone is not healed," Kelly said. "He'll start throwing a little bit more, but he's out for right now. He's not cleared and will not play this week. Until he gets fully healed, he's not going to be able to play with it. We think he'll be able to throw a little more this week, but we can't have anyone near him with contact."

Foles fractured the collarbone on his left (non-throwing) side during the Eagles' Nov. 2 game in Houston.

Sherman: Eagles Miss DeSean Jackson

Dec 7, 2014 11:27 PM

The Philadelphia Eagles struggled to move the ball against the defense of the Seattle Seahawks.

The Eagles lack the vertical threat DeSean Jackson provide in past seasons.

"I think they miss him tremendously," Sherman said of Jackson. "He was an incredible threat -- still a threat in this league. You can tell by things he's doing out there in Washington."

Said Sherman of Philadelphia's current wideouts: "We never felt threatened."

Chip Kelly 'Laughs' At Reports He May Leave Eagles For Florida

Dec 3, 2014 12:07 PM

Chip Kelly has strongly dismissed rumors of any interest in leaving the Philadelphia Eagles to become head coach at Florida.

"I laugh," Kelly said when asked how he responds to such rumors. "No, I think it's silly. Because it's a rumor, it's not the truth. I think things that are false are silly."

Kelly is in just his second season with the Eagles and had a difficult time leaving Oregon.
