Rams Will Continue To Start Case Keenum At Quarterback

Sep 20, 2016 8:14 AM

The Los Angeles Rams have scored a total of nine points in two games, but are 1-1 after beating the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.

Jeff Fisher has made it clear that Case Keenum will be the starting quarterback, not No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff, in Week 3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

"We need more production out of our offense, and all things point to the quarterback position," Fisher said. "But I'm expecting Case to continue to get better in this offense and we're going to win games and score points."

The Rams are the only team in the NFL not to score an offensive touchdown this season.

"If you're going to be successful in this league -- there are a lot of really good offenses -- you have to score points," Keenum said.

Rams Held Players-Only Meeting Before Beating Seahawks

Sep 19, 2016 8:30 AM

The Los Angeles Rams held a players-only meeting on Saturday night in an effort to unify team objectives ahead of Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.

The meeting was called by team leaders and focused on forgetting about the 28-point loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Week 1.

Something about the discussion seemed to work as Los Angeles upset heavily-favored Seattle 9-3.

Rams To Wear Royal Blue Throwbacks For L.A. Opener

Sep 15, 2016 8:28 PM

The Los Angeles Rams will wear their royal blue throwback uniforms for their home opener in Week 2 against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Rams had blue and white uniforms in the mid-1960s and then changed to blue, yellow and white in the '70s. The St. Louis Rams colors were blue, gold and white.

The Rams will wear white uniforms for home games when they're not wearing throwbacks.

The Rams are expected to roll out new uniforms for the 2019 season, when they are scheduled to move into a new stadium in Inglewood.

Jeff Fisher Still Expected To Receive Three-Year Extension With Rams

Sep 15, 2016 6:46 PM

Jeff Fisher remains likely to receive a three-year contract extension as head coach of the Los Angeles Rams.

"The word on the street, I don’t know if they actually put it in one of the...because...they haven’t really put out the Michael Brockers contract extension yet, because I know he just got a contract extension. I think they were gonna put at the bottom of the release that Jeff Fisher signed a 3-year extension," said Clayton.

It was reported in August that Fisher was close to an extension.

The Rams lost at the 49ers in Week 1 by a final score of 28-0.

Rams Sticking With Case Keenum As Starter

Sep 13, 2016 7:30 PM

The Los Angeles Rams will stick with Case Keenum as their starting quarterback, according to Jeff Fisher.

The Rams started their second run in Los Angeles with a 28-0 defeat at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers.

"I thought about it. I just wanted Case to finish it...I would have done the same had Jared been (No.) 2," Fisher told reporters when asked if he considered swapping quarterbacks. "I would have let Case finish it. This doesn't change anything as far as quarterback is concerned."

When asked if Keenum is still the starting quarterback, Fisher had this:

"That is correct. I'll adjust, but I expect it to continue."

Broncos Had Trade Interest In Case Keenum

Sep 8, 2016 8:40 PM

The Denver Broncos had interest in Case Keenum during the preseason and conducted trade talks with the Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams would have required a "huge pick or player compensation" to move their Week 1 starter.

Gary Kubiak has a familiarity with Keenum going back to their days with the Houston Texans.

The Broncos decided instead to make Trevor Siemian their starter at quarterback.

Jared Goff Will Be Inactive For Rams In Opener

Sep 7, 2016 7:43 AM

The Los Angeles Rams plan to ease the first overall pick in, so Jared Goff will be inactive Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Goff finished the preseason as the team's third-string quarterback.

Case Keenum will start with Sean Mannion, a third-round pick in 2015, as his backup.

Goff finished the preseason completing only 22 of 49 passes for 232 yards, with two touchdowns, two interceptions, two fumbles and four sacks.

"Jared's had a great camp. So has Sean," Jeff Fisher said. "Case is clearly our starter."
