Todd Gurley had the same type of knee issues he has now following Week 1 when he rushed for 108 yards and caught three passes for 39 yards and a touchdown. 

"It was a similar situation," Sean McVay said.

Gurley said Thursday that he, "Felt like s---" after the Monday night game in Week 1.

"It was bad," Gurley said. "I was contemplating on giving the Rams back their money and everything. It was bad. It was real bad."

Gurley's knee, however, felt better a few days after Week 1, which is not the case currently. 

Todd Gurley hasn't practiced due to inflammation in his left knee, but thinks he'll be able to play on Sunday.

The Los Angeles Rams are preparing for the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16.

"I think I'll be fine (to play Sunday)," Gurley said. "Just taking it day by day, recovering, resting, trying to feel better."

The Rams (11-3) have clinched the NFC West, but a first-round bye in the playoffs is still up for grabs.

"We got a game and I'm pretty sure me being out there, if I can be out there, I would put this team in a good position to help them win," Gurley said. "So why wouldn't I be out there if I can play in this situation? We just lost two, trying to get a first-round bye, like, that's what we are trying to do. We're trying to win."

Keenan Allen, who left last Thursday's Los Angeles Chargers-Kansas City Chiefs game with a hip pointer, is expected to play on Saturday night, according to a source.

Allen has looked improved and ready at practice this week as the Chargers prepare for the Baltimore Ravens.

He has 88 receptions for 1,074 yards and six touchdowns this season.

The Arizona Cardinals have claimed Pharoh Cooper off waivers from the Los Angeles Rams.

The Rams waived the return man on Tuesday and he could now play against them on Sunday.

"They're getting a great competitor, a tough football player. He has great instincts when the ball is in his hands, a hard worker. We think the world of him here," Sean McVay said.

The Rams waived Cooper to open a spot to sign C.J. Anderson, who was added as insurance with Todd Gurley dealing with a knee injury.

"Really, it wasn't anything that Pharoh didn't do. It was more a result of just a numbers deal, where two of our three running backs on the active roster were banged up, and we had to create a spot. That's really a big added bonus, and I wish him nothing but the best," McVay said.

The Los Angeles Rams have signed C.J. Anderson to give the team depth at running back behind Todd Gurley.

Gurley was temporarily sidelined Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles and is considered day-to-day because of inflammation in his knee.

Gurley's most trusted backup, Malcolm Brown, was placed on injured reserve after he suffered a clavicle injury in Week 13.

The Los Angeles Rams have played average offensively in the three games following their bye, which is troubling with the playoffs drawing near.

Jared Goff has seven interceptions in L.A.'s last three games after having just six in his previous 11 games.

"He did a good job continuing to compete ... and that's what you love about Jared. But there's some things that we all got to be better," Sean McVay said after Sunday night's loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. "He's got to make better decisions, especially when we end up falling out underneath the center on third-and-1. You know, sometimes the only play is to just eat it and take that sack ... but in trying to make plays, we learn from all of our mistakes, and that's Rams coaches alike, but there's certainly some things we can look at, and we got to be better.

"Teams are doing different things to us," Goff said. "They're trying out different things and we just need to find a way to respond."

The Rams have suffered back-to-back losses for the first time under McVay.

"We've got to be able to figure this out and figure it out fast," he said. "Because these last couple weeks, we're doing things totally uncharacteristic of what good football teams do, of what we've done through the first handful of games this season. The only thing we know how to do is go back to work, look at ourselves. Everybody's got a hand in this and we've got to get it figured out fast."

Todd Gurley finished 22 yards behind Kareem Hunt for the NFL's rushing title last season, something he said didn't bother him at the time.

Gurley sat out in Week 17 as the Los Angeles Rams got themselves ready for the playoffs.

"Yeah, I was lying, I really did care about the title," Gurley said. "That would be a pretty cool thing to get. I tell people that all the time: It's like you play for team goals but who wouldn't want to be the NFL sack leader? Who wouldn't want to be the NFL passing or rushing leader?"

Gurley enters Week 14 as the NFL's rushing leader, holding a 25-yard lead over Ezekiel Elliott.
