Rams To Be Featured On HBO's Hard Knocks

Mar 23, 2016 11:54 AM

The Los Angeles Rams will be featured on HBO's Hard Knocks this year.

"It’s clear both in Southern California and nationwide there’s significant interest in the return of the Rams to Los Angeles, and it seemed like a very good year to give people a look at our franchise and our players,” said Kevin Demoff, Rams chief operating officer.

"We have one of the youngest teams, a lot of talented players -- back-to-back rookies of the year -- that we want people to start to get exposure to. What better way to do that than 'Hard Knocks'?"

"This was the perfect team at the perfect time," said Ken Rodgers, an NFL Films coordinating producer and also the show’s supervising producer. "It’s such a historic moment in NFL history, and one that NFL Films hasn’t really documented in the past.

"Previous teams that have moved, it wasn’t something that we had covered fully like we’re going to cover the Rams. What we try to do on the show is find a team that’s going on a mission, that’s going somewhere. Having a team that’s not only trying to get somewhere but is also physically moving just adds to the drama of training camp."

The New England Patriots have agreed upon a one-year deal with Chris Long.

Long will help the Patriots replace Chandler Jones, who was traded to the Arizona Cardinals.

Long, the second overall pick in the 2008 draft, started 95 of his 114 games with the Rams and compiled 54½ sacks, 41½ of which came between the 2010 and 2013 seasons, which ranked fifth in the NFL over that period.

Long has battled injuries over the past two seasons and turns 31 this month.

Los Angeles Could Host Super Bowl In Either 2020 Or 2021

Mar 3, 2016 10:44 AM

Los Angeles is in the running to host either the 2020 or 2021 Super Bowl.

Houston and Minneapolis will host the next two Super Bowls.

The NFL's Super Bowl Advisory Committee will decide up the 2019, 2020 and 2021 Super Bowls on one day in May.

The committee will make a departure from its “guiding principle” that a new stadium must have two full seasons under its belt before becoming eligible to host a Super Bowl. The Rams’ stadium in Inglewood is slated to open in 2019, and it will be eligible for a Super Bowl at the end of that season.

Atlanta, Miami and Tampa are also finalists to host one of the games, while New Orleans is only under consideration for the one after the 2019 season.
