St. Louis Approves $150M In Financing For New Rams' Stadium

Dec 18, 2015 10:08 PM

The city of St. Louis took one step closer to getting an NFL stadium built when the city's Board of Aldermen voted Friday to approve $150 million in city funding for a proposed new stadium that would be built near the Mississippi Rivers.

Stan Kroenke has given no indication he would like to stay in St. Louis.

Before Friday's vote, Goodell wanted to make sure the Aldermen knew that the NFL would only be good for $200 million, not the $300 million that was outlined in the plan. The NFL's G-4 program routinely finances up to $200 million for teams looking to build a new stadium.

In the letter, which was obtained by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Goodell made it clear that the city would have "no assurance" of getting the extra $100 million in financing.

Rams Unlikely To Fire Jeff Fisher If Team Stays In St. Louis

Dec 18, 2015 9:53 PM

Jeff Fisher is not in danger of being fired by the St. Louis Rams despite another disappointing season.

The Rams are likely stuck in St. Louis for another season and Stan Kroenke is not interested in paying more than $6 million to Fisher to not coach a team he isn't currently engaged with as his biggest priority.

Fisher has one season remaining on his five-year, $35 million deal.

Kroenke's best-case scenario now is to have any moves to Los Angeles pushed back until 2017.

Bob Iger Has Helped Viability Of Carson Project

Dec 7, 2015 1:31 PM

Bob Iger joined the Chargers and Raiders plan for Carson last month, which has already been beneficial for its viability.

“He feels like a partner to people like Roger Goodell and Bob Kraft,” said one source.

Iger is CEO of Disney.

There has been more support for the Spanos family within the NFL as the sentiment is they've done everything within their power to make San Diego work.

Some owners view the Raiders as a drag on the Carson project and that it would have 24 votes to win if they weren't included.

Rams Offer Total Share Of Inglewood Stadium To 2nd Team

Dec 3, 2015 1:23 PM

Stan Kroenke sent a letter to the NFL’s Committee on L.A. Opportunities last week outlining terms to share his proposed stadium in Inglewood with another team.

The potential deal includes a 50-50 split of the cost to build the $1.86-billion stadium and a 50-50 split of revenue from the venue.

Kroenke would retain control of the stadium’s design as well as revenue from the surrounding mixed-use development on the 290-acre site.

Jeff Fisher Unconcerned With Job Security

Dec 1, 2015 2:34 PM

Jeff Fisher is in his fourth season as head coach of the St. Louis Rams and he was asked if he believes he deserves to be retained for 2016.

“I’ve been doing this for probably short of 20 years, and I’ve never gone into a game or into a season worried about my job security,” Fisher said, via Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “That would be unfair to the organization and unfair to the players. So I’m not concerned about that.

“What I’m concerned about is this week. I know that’s not the answer you guys want to hear, but I’m concerned about this week. We’re 3-0 in the division. We’ve got the division leader coming to town, and we’re going to get ready to play.”

Fisher is 24-34-1 as head coach of the Rams.
