Jimmy Garoppolo Says He 'Messed Up' With Substance Exemption
Jimmy Garoppolo says that his two-game suspension for violating the NFL's performance enhancing substances policy was because he "messed up" the therapeutic use exemption.
The violation was related to the quarterback using a prescribed medication without having a valid therapeutic use exemption from the league, according to a source.
Garoppolo said he's never "been in this situation before," but plans to "attack OTAs, attack training camp and let those first two games pass by." He can participate in all offseason activities and training camp with the Rams, but cannot be at the facility for two weeks once the regular season starts.
"Hopefully we'll get some dubs and start off 2-0 and keep things moving," Garoppolo said. "But it's just one of those situations. It is what it is. You got to deal with it and just keep moving on and stay positive."
Aaron Donald Announces Retirement From NFL
Aaron Donald has announced his retirement from the NFL.
Donald was Defensive Player of the Year in 2017, 2018 and 2020. Donald was also an eight-time first-team All-Pro.
Donald is widely expected to be a first ballot Hall of Famer in 2029.
The Los Angeles Rams selected Donald with the 13th overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft out of Pittsburgh.

Kamren Curl is signing a two-year deal with the Los Angeles Rams.
The contract, according to a report, could be worth up to $13 million over the next two seasons.
In four seasons with the Washington Commanders, Curl has started 53 games.

Cornerback Darious Williams has agreed to sign with the Los Angeles Rams on a three-year deal worth $22.5 million.
Williams previously played for the Rams from 2018 until 2021 before spending the past two seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Los Angeles Rams have re-signed guard Kevin Dotson to a three-year contract worth $48 million, according to a source.
The contract includes $32 million in guaranteed money.
Dotson was a fourth-round pick in 2020.
The Rams traded for Dotson during training camp, sending 2024 fourth-round and 2025 fifth-round picks to the Pittsburgh Steelers for Dotson and 2024 fifth-round and 2025 sixth-round picks.
