Eric Dickerson: Jeff Fisher Banned Me From Rams Sideline

Nov 29, 2016 8:17 AM

Eric Dickerson told ESPN on Monday that Jeff Fisher basically told him he didn't want him on the Los Angeles Rams sideline during games because some of his public comments have made players "uncomfortable."

The Rams are 4-7 in their first season back in Los Angeles. Dickerson was a star when the club last played on the West Coast.

Fisher later backtracked in that conversation, after Dickerson defended his right to speak out, but Dickerson vowed to Fisher that he would never go to a Rams game as long as Fisher is the team's coach.

"I won't be at the Coliseum as long as Fisher is coaching," Dickerson reiterated. "I'm a man of my word, and if I tell you something, I'm going to do it."

Jeff Fisher On Jared Goff's Debut: 'You Could See The Light'

Nov 21, 2016 9:34 AM

Jared Goff, the first overall pick in this year's NFL Draft, made his first start for the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday afternoon against the Miami Dolphins.

The Rams lost 14-10 despite having a 10-point lead in the final five minutes, but Jeff Fisher was pleased with Goff.

"He did a really good job," Fisher said. "No delay of games. He was in complete control in the huddle. He did a nice job on the line of scrimmage. I was disappointed in the outcome of the game, but you could see the light -- there's light there for him.

"So we'll continue to allow him to get ready and continue to progress."

Goff finished 17-of-31 for 134 yards with zero touchdown passes and zero interceptions. He was sacked once and finished with a 65.8 passer rating.

Robert Quinn Feeling Better After Visit To Hospital

Nov 14, 2016 10:46 PM

Robert Quinn was admitted to a hospital on Monday morning with a non-football-related injury.

Quinn later did interviews with the media, but he admitted himself to a local hospital shortly after the team returned to the west coast late Sunday.

Jeff Fisher wouldn't go into details regarding Quinn's medical condition but said it's "highly unlikely" that it is related to the benign brain tumor he was diagnosed with in high school.

"He's feeling much better," Fisher said during his weekly availability from the team facility late in the afternoon. "He kept saying to me over and over, 'Coach, I just want to get back, get my mind right and get back on the field as fast as I can.' We're still undergoing tests. Things look encouraging."

League Office Wants To Prevent Relocation Of Raiders, Chargers

Nov 14, 2016 2:34 PM

The NFL league office wants to avoid having the Oakland Raiders relocate to Las Vegas and the San Diego Chargers moving to Los Angeles.

The league is concerned with the Chargers becoming the Clippers to the Rams' Lakers if they move to Los Angeles. San Diego voters rejected a plan to build a downtown stadium, which could leave the Spanos family with Mission Valley as their best option.

There are also concerns with the Raiders leaving the economic wealth of the Bay Area along with their longtime passionate fan base for Las Vegas.

Mark Davis would likely need a partner to build a new stadium in the Bay Area.

NFL Pessimistic About Potential Stadium Deal Between Chargers, Rams

Nov 14, 2016 10:49 AM

Concern currently exists at the league level regarding the ability of the Chargers and Rams to strike a deal and to work together on building and sharing a stadium and a market.

The Chargers lost a ballot resolution last week to build a new stadium in San Diego.

Barring an extension, the window of opportunity for the Chargers to agree upon a stadium deal with the Rams to share Los Angeles closes on January 15, 2017.

Rams Could Start Jared Goff As Early As Week 11

Nov 13, 2016 10:37 AM

The Los Angeles Rams could start Jared Goff as early as Week 11 against the Miami Dolphins.

If Case Keenum struggles against the New York Jets, Goff could start next week when they return home. The Rams would prefer Goff's first start come at home.

Keenum has completed 61.5 percent of his passes for 2,004 yards, with nine touchdowns and 11 interceptions in eight games. He ranks last in the league in Total QBR (39.6) among qualified starters.

Goff was the first overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Cal.

Fans Chant 'We Want Goff' As Rams Lose To Panthers

Nov 7, 2016 7:22 AM

During an eventual 13-10 loss to the Carolina Panthers, the Los Angeles Rams were showered with boos by their home fans, who also chanted "We want Goff!"

"I'm glad the fans care," Case Keenum said. "I care, too. I put a lot into this. I put a lot of hours. I put a lot of work into it, and it's something I've worked for my whole life. I'm glad they care because I care, as well, and when we aren't scoring points, and we aren't moving the football, it's frustrating. I can tell they're frustrated. We're frustrated, too."

After a four-interception game against the New York Giants in London, Keenum went 27-for-46 with a touchdown and an interception against the Panthers.

"I would submit that Case was not the reason we lost this game today," Jeff Fisher said. "We just didn't make plays in all three phases. We'll circle the wagons with the coaches and look at the tape, but I'm pleased with the way Case has fought. As I say consistently, repeatedly, week after week, I'm pleased with Jared's progress."
