Dak Prescott went through a range of emotions over the past two days, ending with the Dallas Cowboys' 31-16 victory against the Las Vegas Raiders to close out the preseason on Saturday.

Jerry Jones: Dak Prescott Talks Unaffected By Trey Lance Trade

Aug 26, 2023 8:29 PM

The Dallas Cowboys' acquisition of Trey Lance from the San Francisco 49ers does not have anything to do with the club's desire to extend Dak Prescott's contract.

"Didn't cross my mind, period, about an impact here regarding Dak," owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Saturday before the Cowboys' final preseason game against the Las Vegas Raiders. "I know that Dak wants to do anything we can do to improve this team and we're going to do it. The facts are that the decision to bring in as high a quality of talent as we could, that's involving young talent ... that's something that we've been trying to do, just never the opportunity seems to be there. So often we've been trying to do what we did today with this trade almost every draft since we've been drafting."

Cowboys To Induct DeMarcus Ware Into Ring Of Honor

Aug 24, 2023 8:34 AM

The Dallas Cowboys will induct DeMarcus Ware into their Ring of Honor at some point during the 2023 season.

Ware was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame earlier this month.

Jerry Jones surprised Ware with the announcement Wednesday after the franchise's leader in sacks hosted the Cowboys' kickoff event, bringing Ware's daughter Marley to the stage -- just as he had when he surprised Ware over the winter when he told him he had been selected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Ware was a first-round pick in 2005 and became the Cowboys' all-time leader in sacks with 118 while being named to the Pro Bowl nine times, a first-team All-Pro four times and being named to the 2000s All-Decade team.

Jerry Jones On Jonathan Taylor: Comfortable With RBs Cowboys Have

Aug 23, 2023 8:20 AM

The Indianapolis Colts granted Jonathan Taylor permission to seek a trade on Monday and potential suitors have emerged.

The Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Chargers have been linked to the running back in rumors.

The Dallas Cowboys, however, seem unlikely to trade for Taylor.

"I look at every opportunity," Jerry Jones said. "But the way our young backs are playing, I am very comfortable where we are with our backs right now. I feel good about our running back position if we didn't add anybody."
