Jerry Jones: Cowboys Are Willing To Trade, But Won't Initiate Talks

Oct 25, 2023 8:22 AM

Jerry Jones says the Dallas Cowboys are willing to trade to improve their roster ahead of the deadline, but the team won't initiate talks.

"It will have to come our way. I don't want to preclude it in any way, but it always does. ... The initiation of an opportunity to make a trade that would help us principally has to start over on the other end. That's not showing a lack of aggressiveness, it's just how it starts," the Cowboys' owner and general manager said during his weekly interview with 105.3 The Fan in Dallas.

The trade deadline is Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. ET.

The Cowboys (4-2) are in second place in the NFC East coming out of their bye.

"I like where we are with our personnel today. I'm not thinking in any way that we need to upgrade our roster."

That being said, Jones added that, "I would really extend to improve our team right now. ... Because I think we have a team that is a contender. So, I would do it right now."

CeeDee Lamb Admits Being Frustrated In Loss To 49ers

Oct 14, 2023 1:06 AM

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb knows he has to do a better job dealing with frustration during games.

In last weekend's 42-10 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Lamb, who caught four passes for 49 yards, was visibly upset, standing off to the side and at times disengaged from his teammates, including Dak Prescott.

"I've had to reflect, self-reflect, and I didn't go the best route to get my end result," Lamb said. "At the end of the day, I have a job to do and I want to contribute to this team. I do everything in my power week in and week out to do that. Going forward, there is a better way to go about it, make a lighter situation."

Deebo Samuel Warns Cowboys: Rematch Might Be Worse

Oct 11, 2023 8:43 AM

The Dallas Cowboys are hoping for a rematch with the San Francisco 49ers after their historic 42-10 loss on Sunday night.

Deebo Samuel is warning against such hope.

"I don't think [the Cowboys] want to see us again," Samuel said during an interview with FanDuel's "Up & Adams" podcast. "It might be a little bit worse."

Samuel's pointed comment was in response to a question about Micah Parsons, who called out George Kittle for an anti-Cowboys shirt that the 49ers tight end flashed after one of his three touchdowns.

"It was already personal before the game started, and now -- 42-10 -- I don't think you want to see us again," he said. "It might be a little bit worse.

"I don't know what we're 'trusting.' He's talking about 'we trust,' you know, 'laugh now, cry later.' I mean, I don't think y'all wanna see us again."

Cowboys LB Leighton Vander Esch Could Miss 4-6 Weeks

Oct 10, 2023 8:14 AM

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Leighton Vander Esch could miss four to six weeks because of a neck strain suffered in Week 5, according to sources.

Mike McCarthy said Vander Esch is likely headed to injured reserve, which means he would miss at least the next four games.

He suffered the injury with 13:59 left in the fourth quarter against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday when he was pushed from behind and collided with Micah Parsons' leg.

X-rays taken at the stadium were negative, and Vander Esch had an MRI and other tests performed Monday.

Cowboys At A Loss After 42-10 Rout By 49ers

Oct 9, 2023 1:59 AM

If Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers was supposed to be a measuring stick for the Dallas Cowboys, then the gap between the two team is ginormous.

The 49ers pinned a 42-10 loss on the Cowboys at Levi's Stadium that left the locker room as silent as it was last January, when San Francisco ended Dallas' season in the divisional round of the playoffs.

"Didn't see it coming," quarterback Dak Prescott said. "Put everything into it and got punched in the mouth. Called it a couple weeks ago 'humbling' against Arizona, but this may be the most humbling I've ever been a part of. Felt good about the preparation and felt good about everything, honestly, coming into this game, matchups, and they beat us in every aspect."

Jerry Jones: Road To Super Bowl Runs Through 49ers

Oct 4, 2023 8:05 AM

Jerry Jones views this Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers as a measuring stick for the Dallas Cowboys.

"They are, right now, probably the most likely team to go win the Super Bowl, but in order for them to get there, they have to go by us, hopefully two times if that's the way it falls in the playoffs and we're in the playoffs, of course," the Cowboys' owner and general manager said Tuesday on "Shan & RJ" on 105.3 The Fan.

"But the bottom line is you're playing the best, you don't need the game to tell you you're playing the best, but you need the game to show you how you stack up against the best."

The Cowboys' season has ended at the hands of the 49ers in each of the past two postseasons.
