Micah Parsons Hopes To Play This Season At 255 Pounds

Jun 28, 2023 9:39 AM

Micah Parsons wants to bulk up as he enters his third season with the Dallas Cowboys.

The pass rusher has weighed around 245 pounds since he was drafted, but hopes to bulk up and play at 255 this year.

"It’s about stability," Parsons said. "Strengthening joints, strengthening the knees, shoulders, so all the nagging injuries don't come across. Especially in the groin. I'm trying to stay as healthy as possible."

Parsons said he upgraded his home gym to improve his lifting regimen.

"Different things like that add into the things that help you become a better player," Parsons said. "Because not everything is going to be at work, you have to do some stuff at home too."

Demarcus Lawrence Doesn't See Large Gap Between Cowboys, Eagles

Jun 22, 2023 9:06 AM

It's been a long time since a team repeated as NFC East champions and Demarcus Lawrence doesn't believe the Philadelphia Eagles should be heavy favorites in 2023.

The Eagles and Dallas Cowboys were separated by two games in the standings last season, which ended with Philadelphia in the Super Bowl.

"I don't feel like it's a huge gap at all," Lawrence said when asked about the disparity between his Cowboys and the Eagles.

"I feel like it comes down to certain details. Not just the scheme, but also your locker room. I feel like through this time right now when we headed to training camp, that we made those adjustments, we learned those different things that we need to learn about our teammates so we can fully function the way we should out there on the field."

Dak Prescott Believes Rookie RB Deuce Vaughn Will Help Immediately

Jun 22, 2023 8:50 AM

Dak Prescott is high on rookie running back Deuce Vaughn, who the Dallas Cowboys drafted in sixth round earlier this offseason.

Vaughn's father, Chris, is the Cowboys' assistant director of college scouting.

"That was one that you do get excited about when you see that story," Prescott said. "Understanding going into it knowing who he was, knowing his dad, thinking how cool that would be if you could make that happen. I did pay attention enough that he was there in the [sixth] round or something, was like how is he still there? Seeing that, seeing that reaction, just knowing how great of a guy Chris, who is the father, is. I'm excited about Deuce being in there. I think he's going to be a very talented player who can help us immediately."

Cowboys Release WR Antonio Callaway Following Arrest

Jun 6, 2023 8:17 AM

The Dallas Cowboys have released Antonio Callaway after the wide receiver was arrested last weekend in Miami for driving with a suspended license.

Callaway was signed to the Cowboys' practice squad last November but did not dress for a regular-season game. He was competing for one of the final wide receiver spots.

A former fourth-round pick in 2018 by the Cleveland Browns, Callaway has not caught a pass in a regular-season game since 2020.

Cowboys' Tony Pollard Says He'll Be Cleared For Camp

Jun 2, 2023 9:44 AM

Tony Pollard says he'll be ready for training camp with the Dallas Cowboys in late July as he recovers from the left ankle injury he suffered in the January playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

"I would say I'm not really limited at this point," Pollard said, adding that he was ahead of schedule. "It's just being smart with it, just trying to work my way back in slowly and make sure I'm in tip-top shape when I get out there so it's not a fall off."

Pollard has taken first-team snaps during walk-through portions of organized team activities.

Two days after the playoff loss, Pollard underwent a TightRope procedure instead of a surgery that required screws into the tibia and fibula for a repair. In the procedure, a braided polyethylene cord, rather than a rigid surgical screw, is applied to restore the original position of the bones and to allow for proper healing.

He also suffered a fractured fibula that has healed.
