Arlington Heights is one step closer to stealing the Bears from downtown Chicago.

The Arlington Heights village board approved a zoning change last week that will allow a football stadium to be built on the 326-acre chunk of land that the Bears made a bid for back on June 17.

If the Bears are going to move out of Soldier Field anytime soon, a lot of things are going to have to fall into place.

Chicago Bears receiver Marquise Goodwin will attempt to make another Olympic team.

The veteran wideout will participate in the long jump qualifiers at the Olympic Trials in Eugene, Oregon, on Friday.

If he passes through the qualifying round, finals for the U.S. Team take place Sunday.

Goodwin made the 2012 U.S. Olympic team and just missed out on making the 2016 squad.

Justin Fields has bought into the Chicago Bears' plan to begin the season with Andy Dalton at quarterback.

The Bears drafted Fields with the 11th overall pick.

"If I don't believe in it, it's not going to work out," Fields said. "My job is strictly [to] get better and be the best quarterback I can be and hope my team wins. That's what I'm going to do whether it's starting, whether it's sitting, I'm going to do whatever is going to help us win."

Matt Nagy announced at the beginning of the offseason program that Dalton is No. 1 on the Bears' quarterback depth chart followed by Fields and Nick Foles.

Allen Robinson is prepared for the possibility he'll play the 2021 season on a one-year deal.

"I don't have any [contract] updates or nothing like that," Robinson said on a Tuesday Zoom call.

"That's not in my control, if I don't [get a long-term deal]. That being a possibility [of playing on the one-year franchise tag], then I mean, that is what it is and I'm comfortable with that. Obviously, that's a possibility. That's fine, it is what it is. As I said before, my main focus now is continuing to be better and get better."

The Bears placed the $17.98 franchise tag tender on Robinson after the two sides were unable to agree to an extension last year. 

Despite playing on some of the league's lower-rated offenses, Robinson has caught 255 passes for 3,151 yards and 17 touchdowns over the past three seasons.

The Chicago Bears are apparently considering relocating to Arlington Heights, a suburb that sits roughly 30 miles outside of the city.

During an interview on Monday, Arlington Heights Mayor Tom Hayes made it clear that it's still completely possible the Bears might move to his city. 

"It's still on the table, to my understanding, but it's a complete, definite 'maybe,'" Hayes said. "I'm not in a position where I could say it's a definite 'go' or definite 'no go.'"

The allure of Arlington Heights comes from the fact that the city is about to have 326 acres available where a new stadium could be built.

The Chicago Bears have been owned by one family since the 1920s, but that could soon change.

According to a report, a sale could be coming in the near future and that's because there's some "internal strife going on among family members to sell ... now."

The team has a board of directors made up of eight individuals and currently, five of those eight are members of the McCaskey family.

George Halas paid $100 for the team in 1920 and the Bears are worth an estimated $3.5 billion now.

The Chicago Bears have promised Andy Dalton that he will begin the season as the team's starting quarterback, according to a report.

The Bears labeled Dalton as "QB1" in a Tweet on March 24, but questions popped up when they drafted Justin Fields a few weeks later.
