Bears Considering All Three QBs For Week 4 Start

Sep 28, 2021 8:51 AM

Matt Nagy says everything is on the table for the Chicago Bears at quarterback.

Justin Fields, Andy Dalton and Nick Foles are all under consideration to start on Sunday against the Detroit Lions.

Dalton is currently sidelined with a left knee bruise, and Fields suffered an injury to his right throwing hand against the Browns this past Sunday.

"All three are under consideration right now in regards to where they're at, so we'll just kind of have to see in the next couple days where they're all at," Nagy said. "We know where Nick's at, health-wise, but we just want to keep an eye on Justin and Andy. Then, for us to stay on that and make sure that we have a plan for any of those."

Fields completed only 6 of 20 passes for 68 yards and was sacked nine times in his first NFL regular-season start.

Bears To Start Justin Fields Week 3

Sep 22, 2021 2:19 PM

The Chicago Bears will start Justin Fields at quarterback for the first time in Week 3.

Andy Dalton is not expected to play due to a left knee injury and Nick Foles will serve as the backup to Fields against the Cleveland Browns.

"It's a great opportunity for Justin and for all of us as a staff to be able to take this thing and see where he goes with this," Matt Nagy said of Fields' first starting opportunity.

Nagy reiterated Wednesday that Dalton would be the Bears' starter once he is healthy enough to play.

Akiem Hicks Hopes To Finish Career With Bears

Sep 15, 2021 8:56 AM

Akiem Hicks has been a fixture for the Chicago Bears for six seasons.

The 31-year-old hopes to finish out his career with the franchise.

"I'll do everything in my power to do so," he said. "That's what I want. That's what I feel at the end of the day is right for me. I started a piece of my career here, and it grew, and it blossomed, and I've just had so many joy-filled moments as a Chicago Bear. I can't see myself in another jersey."

A third-round pick out of Regina (Canada) in 2012, Hicks spent three seasons with the Saints before being traded to New England three games into the 2015 season. He then inked a two-year contract in Chicago in 2016.

Bears GM: No Need To Rush Justin Fields

Sep 2, 2021 8:52 AM

The Chicago Bears remain satisfied with Andy Dalton at quarterback entering the season.

Despite calls for the team to start rookie Justin Fields immediately, Ryan Pace says the Bears won't act impulsively.

"I just feel like we're just in a good position with Andy," Pace said. "It starts with how we feel about Andy, and we're very confident in him and where he's at. So, there's no need for us to rush Justin."
