The Chicago Bears hope to move "as quickly as possible" on whether they will draft a quarterback or go in another direction while keeping Justin Fields.

The Bears own the No. 1 pick in the draft for the second straight season. Last year, the Bears traded the pick to the Carolina Panthers, which led to the No. 1 pick this year.

"It just depends on what opportunities pop up," GM Ryan Poles said. "I will say this, I think you guys know me well enough now, if we go down that road, I want to do right by Justin as well. No one wants to live in gray, I know that's uncomfortable. I wouldn't want to be in that situation either. So, we will gather the information -- we will move as quickly as possible, [but] we are not going to be in a rush -- and see what presents itself and what's best for the organization."

Caleb Williams is widely considered the presumptive No. 1 pick in the draft.

D.J. Moore remains steadfast in his belief that Justin Fields is the best option at quarterback for the Chicago Bears.

The Bears will take in the pool of quarterback prospects available in this year's draft at the NFL Scouting Combine this week.

"I still don't think they compare to Justin right now," Moore said.

The Chicago Bears are hiring Jennifer King as an assistant coach, according to a report.

King will work primarily with running backs.

The first Black female coach in NFL history, King spent the past three seasons as a full-time offensive assistant with the Washington Commanders.

Her title was assistant running backs coach.

The Chicago Bears expect to have a plan in place at quarterback by the Scouting Combine in Indianapolis next week, according to a report.

The report also states that the Bears "got inquiries from other teams" about Justin Fields at the Senior Bowl.

It ultimately comes down to whether the Bears want to keep Fields or use the first overall pick on Caleb Williams.

Running back Mike Davis, who played for six NFL teams in eight seasons, announced his retirement on Monday, his 31st birthday.

Davis had 2,052 rushing yards with 14 touchdowns and 1,066 receiving yards with four touchdowns in a career with Seattle, San Francisco, Carolina, Atlanta, Chicago and Baltimore.

The Pittsburgh Steelers will look to add a veteran quarterback this offseason, according to a report.

Adam Schefter mentions Ryan Tannehill, Russell Wilson and Justin Fields as potential options.

Schefter said, "Mike Tomlin is a big fan of Justin Fields."

The Chicago Bears have the No. 1 and No. 9 picks in the draft, which could lead to a Field trade.

Jaylon Johnson said late in the regular season that he couldn't see himself playing for a team other than the Chicago Bears.

While speaking at the Pro Bowl this weekend, the free agent cornerback appeared more open to the idea of signing elsewhere.

"Heart's definitely in Chicago, mind's definitely on the money," Johnson said. "So, I mean, we'll figure out if we can make them both come together and get something done. I'm looking forward to see what's to come."

Bears general manager Ryan Poles said after the season that Johnson "not going to go anywhere and we'll work through it to get something done," so the franchise tag may come into play if the two sides can't hammer out a deal in the next few weeks. 

The Las Vegas Raiders are expected to hire Luke Getsy as their next offensive coordinator, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler late Saturday night, confirming a report.

Getsy, 39, who held the same post with the Chicago Bears, had a strong interview with team officials, and will take over the playcalling job that appeared on its way to former Arizona Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury, before talks ended.
