Matt Nagy expects to remain head coach of the Chicago Bears for the final two games of the 2021 regular season.

Nagy is widely expected to be fired this offseason. A new rule that allows teams to interview head coaching candidates during the final two weeks of the regular season if the coach is either fired or has been given notice complicates the situation for Nagy to finish out the season.

Asked Monday if he assumed he will coach out the season, Nagy nodded and said: "Yes."

The Bears are 5-10 and coming off a win at the Seattle Seahawks. 

The Chicago Bears were not happy with the officiating after Monday night's 17-9 loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

The Bears were called for five personal fouls out of nine total penalties, including a rare flag against Matt Nagy for arguing a call at Soldier Field.

"Some of these calls are starting to get a little crazy," Robert Quinn said. "These refs seem like they're controlling the game a little too much. So, when a play is clean and they're throwing a flag for something that they thought they could change a game [with] just by one flag ... let guys play ball. If this was a couple years ago, half of this stuff wouldn't even be called. But now, they got so many of these stupid rules, they dang near in a ref's hands [and] could change the game in any given moment.

"I think they need to go check the refs they hire and not our coach."

Eight weeks after telling fans at Solider Field that he still owned the Chicago Bears, Aaron Rodgers said he doesn't regret his declaration.

Rodgers made headlines by yelling "I still own you!" after a touchdown run in Green Bay's victory.

"I don't know that you can question a whole lot of what I said," Rodgers said. "We have gotten the better of them the last, I don't know, 27, 28 times we've played them for the most part ... A lot of times in situations like this, the trash talk is only going to be used if you're getting after that individual that was trash-talking. So in order to trash-talk, you have to have a lot of confidence in what you accomplished and what you're going to accomplish in the future.

"At some point, what I said will be used against me -- that's just part of it. But I have no regrets for saying what I said, and obviously I think the record kinda speaks for itself. But I get it. At some point that will be used against me. It is what it is. I don't regret saying it at all."

Rodgers has won five straight against the Bears and is 22-5 overall as a starter against the Packers' NFC North rival. 

Justin Fields has missed the last two games with cracked ribs and his status for this week's game against the Green Bay Packers remains in question.

Matt Nagy said on Monday that the Bears are "never going to put him at risk medically" and that the team will have an "ongoing discussion" about his availability over the coming days.
