Aaron Rodgers was caught on microphones taunting Chicago Bears fans after a 6-yard touchdown scramble in the fourth quarter on Sunday that sealed the Green Bay Packers' 24-14 victory.
"All my f---ing life, I own you," Rodgers shouted as he was congratulated by his teammates. "I still own you. I still own you."
It was Rodgers' 22nd win over the Bears, including the playoffs (the 2010 NFC Championship Game). His 22-5 record against the Bears gives him the third-best winning percentage (.815) by a quarterback against a single opponent since 1950, according to ESPN Stats & Information.
Rodgers did his trademark championship-belt celebration, known as the "Discount Doublecheck," but then noticed someone in the stands after the decisive score.
And then, in his words, he blacked out ... "in a good way."
"I looked up in the stands and in the front row all I saw was a woman giving me the double bird," Rodgers said. "So I'm not sure exactly what came out of my mouth next."
In need of cap space, the Chicago Bears have created some.
The Bears made more than $3.5 million in cap space by converting a portion of Robert Quinn's base salary to a signing bonus.
Quinn is signed through the 2024 season and was set to have a cap hit of $16 million for the 2022 season.
The Green Bay Packers are 4-1 but there's still a good chance Aaron Rodgers will leave the franchise after this season.
Ahead of this week's game against the Chicago Bears, the quarterback was asked if he could ever see himself playing for the longtime division rival.
"No, no," Rodgers said. "It's just not going to happen, man."
Rodgers is 21-5 against the Bears in his career.
The Chicago Bears placed Damien Williams on the reserve/COVID-19 list Thursday.
The running back had taken over as the starter after David Montgomery suffered a knee injury.
According to a source, Williams tested positive.
If he is asymptomatic and is vaccinated, he would be able to return once he produces two negative tests 24 hours apart. If he is vaccinated and develops symptoms, he would be able to return once he produces two negative tests 24 hours apart and is asymptomatic for 48 hours.
If he is unvaccinated, he would have to quarantine for a minimum of 10 days.
Justin Fields will remain the starting quarterback of the Chicago Bears going forward.
Nagy had previously said veteran Andy Dalton would regain the starting job once he was healthy enough to return from a knee injury that has sidelined him the past two weeks.
Fields has completed 25 of 52 pass attempts (48.1%) for 347 yards and two interceptions. He also has rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown.
