49ers' Deebo Samuel Has Not Rescinded Trade Request

Jun 27, 2022 9:08 AM

Deebo Samuel has not officially rescinded his trade request, according to a report.

Samuel previously requested a trade from the San Francisco 49ers due to his desire for a new contract along with some displeasure surrounding his role within the offense.

Thus far, the 49ers have been unwilling to grant Samuel's request.

"Well, we haven't traded him, and -- I've used the word fool -- I'd be a fool to trade him," John Lynch said earlier this month. "So yes, Deebo will be part of the 49ers this season."

Jimmy Garoppolo On Track, To Throw Soon

Jun 27, 2022 9:00 AM

Jimmy Garoppolo's timetable for throwing remains on schedule after offseason shoulder surgery, according to a source.

The expectation has been Garoppolo, who had the procedure on his right shoulder in March, will throw over the next few weeks after he's been cleared, and that plan remains in place.

Once the quarterback can pass a physical, the trade market for Garoppolo could heat up.

George Kittle Wants Two Byes To Minimize Wear And Tear

Jun 15, 2022 10:22 AM

With the NFL season extended to 17 games, George Kittle wants to see the league give players more rest.

Appearing on Cold As Balls with Kevin Hart, Kittle made the case for two byes.

"There’s a huge physical toll," Kittle said. "And like, 17 games is a lot. It's a lot of games, with one bye, whether it's Week Four or the bye is Week 11. I'm advocating for two byes."

In order to give each team two weeks off, the regular season would have to be expanded to 19 weeks.

Deebo Samuel, Nick Bosa Report To Mandatory Minicamp With 49ers

Jun 7, 2022 5:52 PM

Deebo Samuel and Nick Bosa showed up for mandatory minicamp with the San Francisco 49ers on Tuesday.

Samuel requested a trade from the 49ers in April. Because Samuel reported for the minicamp, he is not subject to the fines that go with missing minicamp sessions.

Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch have been adamant that they don't intend to trade Samuel.

When asked whether Samuel has rescinded his trade request, Shanahan said that's a better question for Samuel, who has not been available to the media since his trade request became public knowledge.

Shanahan did, however, say that discussions between the Niners and Samuel's representatives are ongoing and that he and Samuel have had the opportunity to speak in person recently.

"They always talk," Shanahan said. "I love our relationship with Deebo and hopefully that will help us be able to solve this contractually before we get to the season."
