Packers Place David Bakhtiari On PUP List

Aug 31, 2021 1:44 PM

The Green Bay Packers have placed David Bakhtiari on the physically unable to perform list and will miss the first six weeks of the season.

Bakhtiari, who tore the ACL in his left knee in practice on Dec. 31, would be first eligible to play on Oct. 24 against the Washington Football Team.

Bakhtiari signed a four-year, $103.5 million contract extension last November that made him the highest-paid offensive lineman in NFL history at the time.

Aaron Rodgers: We All Know It's 'Championship Or Disappointment'

Aug 27, 2021 7:44 AM

Aaron Rodgers isn't shying away from a win-now approach for the Green Bay Packers this season.

The expectation is that Rodgers is entering his final season with the Packers.

"I think we all know what’s at stake," the quarterback said. "I talked about that a little bit the other day about perspective and how important that perspective is to focus on this season and enjoy the most out of this season, because there are a lot of unknowns."

Rodgers insisted that the approach isn't about just his future, but that of a number of Packers.

"They jumped through some hoops to get under the cap this year," he said. "Obviously, the cap is expected to go back up next year but you never know. So we’re just going to enjoy this season. It’s Title Town. It’s championship or disappointment."

Aaron Rodgers Doesn't Want 2021 To Be 'Farewell Tour'

Aug 22, 2021 3:44 PM

Aaron Rodgers said Wednesday that he doesn't want the 2021 season with the Green Bay Packers to be a "farewell tour."

"I don't want a farewell tour," Rodgers said. "I don't know what's going to happen after the season, but I'm going to enjoy it with the right perspective, for sure, and not look at it as I'm getting through this. I'm going to enjoy the hell out of all of it."

Rodgers spent the offseason away from the Packers as he tried to get the team to cede more power to him.

Packers' Jordan Love May Be Sidelined This Week

Aug 16, 2021 8:43 AM

Jordan Love was supposed to be QB1 for the Green Bay Packers this preseason, but those plans may have changed.

While an MRI on Love's right shoulder came back clean, according to a source, Matt LaFleur said Sunday that Love's status for practice this week and for preseason game No. 2 against the New York Jets on Saturday is uncertain.

"I think he's doing fine," LaFleur said. "It's something, though, that is significant enough where he could miss a couple days of practice. We'll see where he's at at the end of the week, but we're going to kind of take it day to day.

Love said he felt a strain around his right arm and shoulder after a sack-fumble late in the second quarter of the Packers' preseason opener on Saturday, a 26-7 loss to the Houston Texans at Lambeau Field.

Aug 11, 2021 9:05 AM

Jordan Love will lead the Green Bay Packers this preseason.

Matt LaFleur said Tuesday that Aaron Rodgers will "most likely not" play at all in the preseason.

Rodgers' last preseason action came in 2018, when he played one series that included seven plays. He hasn't played more than three series in a single preseason since 2015.

Packers 'Willing To Work Through Season' On Davante Adams Contract

Aug 10, 2021 8:52 PM

Davante Adams declared last month that he deserves to be the highest-paid receiver in the NFL.

The Green Bay Packers agree, but there are different ways to determine that status.

Brian Gutekunst isn't placing a deadline on talks with Adams on a new deal.

"We're always open to the conversations, we don't shut things down for the season," Gutekunst said. "I know some teams have done that in the past. Russ [Ball] and I don't think that’s how we would do things. We're open, like last year with David [Bakhtiari], we're willing to work through the season to get things done."

Aaron Rodgers: Relationship With Brian Gutekunst 'Work In Progress'

Aug 4, 2021 3:23 PM

Aaron Rodgers called his relationship with Green Bay Packers' general manager Brian Gutekunst a "work in progress, for sure."

A week into training camp, Rodgers and Gutekunst have been seen at least once talking during practice for several minutes.

"Relationships aren't formed in a matter of a couple days," Rodgers said Wednesday of Gutekunst, who has been the GM since 2018 and on the Packers scouting staff since 1998. "There's time where the respect grows and the communication follows. I think the greatest relationships that you have with your friends and loved ones involved conversation and flow. You can not talk to a close friend for a few months and pick up right where you left off. There's no break in communication, there's no forced conversations or you've got to hit this person up because it's on your to-do list that day.

"It's all about wanting to have those conversations and wanting to be in conversation like that, and we've had a couple conversation and they've been positive conversations."
