Brett Favre: Let's Just Say Aaron Rodgers Was Surprised By Love Pick

Apr 29, 2020 3:17 PM

Brett Favre spoke with Aaron Rodgers following the Green Bay Packers' decision to select Jordan Love in the first round of last week's draft.

“I’m not going to talk about all that we talked," Favre said. "He was, let’s just say surprised, they went that direction.”

Favre went through the same situation with Rodgers during the final seasons of his career with the Packers.

"He has every right to be disappointed, if he is," added Favre.

Aaron Rodgers Excited For 'Another Chance' To Play Tom Brady

Apr 15, 2020 9:25 AM

Aaron Rodgers is looking forward to seeing Tom Brady in a new uniform this coming season and another chance to play the future Hall of Famer.

"I think it is definitely strange," Rodgers said. "It will be strange to not see him in a Patriot jersey. We played them a couple of years ago and thought that was probably the last time we'd play each other. Now, we get another chance.

"I think having him in the league is obviously great for the league and he's a fantastic player. His career speaks for itself. Obviously, he still feels like he has a lot — he has something left to prove. I don't think he does. I think it is only to himself that he can still do it. What he's done kind of setting the bar for the rest of us with his health and his work ethic and his longevity is something I think that is appreciated now and is going to be appreciated even greater when he's done playing."

The Green Bay Packers are scheduled to play Brady and the Buccaneers in Tampa Bay during the regular season.

Aaron Rodgers Interested In Playing Into His 40s

Apr 3, 2020 3:59 PM

Aaron Rodgers is considering playing into his forties. Rodgers' current contract with the Green Bay Packers runs through the 2023 season when he'll turn 40.

“How do you not?” Rodgers said when asked about that possibility. “I’m not some cliché guy that’s going to talk about taking it year by year. Of course, you look at what Tom’s doing and still able to play at his age and play at a high level, and obviously what Drew has done and Phil getting an opportunity to keep rolling in Indy.

“My thing is, legacy is really important. Having an opportunity to do it all in Green Bay would mean a lot to me. I understand the track record of our squad. There’s been times where we’ve had veteran players and they’ve finished elsewhere. I get it. I’d like to make that decision easy for them.

“The only way to do that is to keep playing at a high level and give them no choice but to keep bringing you back because you’re the best option and give them the best chance to win. That’s my goal. I’ve got four years left on my deal. I’d like to play four at a really, really high level and if I feel like keep on keeping on from that point, to do it.

“I feel confident right now. I’m going to be 40 when the deal ends. I feel like I can keep going after that the way things have been going.”
