Fisher: White In Tennessee's Plans

Oct 11, 2014 1:19 AM

Titans coach Jeff Fisher says that running back LenDale White is still a part of the team's plans. "Basically, as I told him at the end of the season, last year was a redshirt year," Fisher said. "He was ready to play, (and) we called on him in certain situations. But he understood and was CJ's biggest fan and he just didn't get the opportunity. There should be more opportunities for him this year." White carried the ball just 64 times for 222 yards in 2009. "The way I think we are capable of playing, C.J. is going to carry the bulk of the load. That doesn't mean to say there will be games where he gets 10 to 15 carries. In a perfect world what you would like to do is split time between your backs. The year before the carries were not equal but they were close but you saw what happened this year when C.J. got the ball. It is a good problem to have. Fortunately we have a back-up who could start in LenDale and basically he has a fresh body."

Mawae Will 'Definitely' Hit Market

Oct 31, 2014 3:23 AM

Kevin Mawae is going to survey his options as a free agent. The Titans haven't had many conversations with Mawae or agent Mark Bartelstein about a future together. "Nothing has changed," Bartelstein said. "He will definitely hit the market, but (we'll) continue to talk to the Titans." Bartelstein said last week he didn't expect the Titans to try to re-sign the veteran center after they inked guard Eugene Amano to a five-year, $25.7 million deal.

There have been some whispers that the Chargers and Titans could be potential trade partners this offseason. ESPN suggests that the Chargers could deal Cromartie to Tennessee for LenDale White, who has become expendable with the emergence of Chris Johnson.

Agent: Bulluck's Knee Won't Be Issue

Jul 5, 2014 12:00 PM

Free-agent Keith Bulluck is one of the better free agents on the market, but he's battling a knee injury. Bulluck's agent says his knee is a non-issue after having knee surgery to repair a torn ACL. "To me, the ACL is not an issue. Players come back from those sorts of injuries all the time now," agent Gary Wichard said. "It's not the same type of injury it was 15 or 20 years ago."

Mawae Expected To Test Free Agency

Oct 31, 2014 3:23 AM

Titans center Kevin Mawae is expected to test the free-agent market. Agent Mark Bartelstein also acknowledged the chances of the eight-time Pro Bowl selection returning to the Titans this year were "diminished" when the team reached a contract agreement with guard Eugene Amano. "All things being equal, he'd love to be back," Bartelstein said. "I think the Titans have a young guy there they are trying to bring along, and they just made a big investment in Amano. So I am not sure that the role Kevin would have as a Titan is worthy of what Kevin is as a player right now."

Agent: Young Patient Regarding Extension

Oct 24, 2014 5:39 AM

Titans quarterback Vince Young bounced back in 2009, but his agent doesn't anticipate a contract extension in the near future. Young is due to collect a $4.25 million roster bonus on March 10 and is scheduled to make $7.25 million base salary in 2010. He'll make $8.5 million in 2011. "He'd love an extension," agent Major Adams said. "I am pretty sure it is possible at some point. But we haven't had any discussion about the contract. Everything is speculation right now. So I think it will probably stay as is for now and we'll just see what happens."

Vanden Bosch Retirement Talk 'A Joke'

Sep 6, 2014 8:35 AM

Defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch thinks he's done with the Titans, but he's not ready to retire. "I laugh when I hear that," agent Tony Agnone said of retirement rumors. "Kyle hasn't thought one iota about retiring. And if you look at all the great sack guys in the NFL ... if you were great before you were 30 then you can be great after 30. It is kind of a joke that once you reach 30 people say you are washed up as a defensive end." Agnone agrees that Vanden Bosch is done in Tennessee.

It is also exciting to know my hard work has paid off and my coaches have confidence in me."
