Titans To Reduce Johnson's Carries In 2010

Nov 1, 2014 8:01 AM

In hopes of preserving Chris Johnson's effectiveness and prolonging his career, the Titans are unlikely to give Johnson as many carries as he got during his super second season. Jeff Fisher said as much the day after Johnson became the sixth player in league history to rush for 2,000 yards. "He can still do 1,500 or 1,700 yards on half of those carries because he's that good of a running back. ? It's still going to be more than any other running back because of his skill set."

White Loves Titans, But Wants To Play

Nov 1, 2014 8:00 AM

Titans running back LenDale White loves Tennessee, but he wants to have the chance to play as well. White lost weight prior to the 2009 season, but saw his carries drop dramatically as teammate Chris Johnson exploded for a 2,000-yard season. "I love being in Tennessee. I feel like I am at home here," White said. "I don't want to rent a U-Haul, or have to go somewhere else and call HH Gregg and go through that process again. The people in Nashville have been great to me. People have been supportive. Everyone's been great." "I don't want to be here if I don't get a chance to compete. I just want an opportunity," White added. "I am a football player. I like to play football and I didn't get to play much this year. I took a backseat to greatness, but I want to play, man. I am excited the season is over. I am a restricted free agent, and I am excited to see what the process brings." In 2007, White rushed for 1,110 yards. In 2008, the year Johnson arrived, he ran for 773 yards and 15 touchdowns. This season he had 222 yards.
