Hayes Suffers Concussion On Collins' Errant Throw

Aug 13, 2014 12:58 AM

Titans defensive end William Haynes suffered a concussion in Sunday's 34-14 loss to the Chiefs when he was hit in the head by an errant pass from teammate Kerry Collins. Collins floated a pass out of bounds, hitting Hayes along the sideline. "That's kind of how the game went," coach Jeff Fisher said Sunday. "I've never had a player leave the game with a concussion after getting hit with the ball on the sideline. But we'll see how he is this week."

Scaife Unsure If Comments Led To Benching

May 17, 2014 11:56 PM

Titans tight end Bo Scaife doesn't know if talking about a possibly divided locker room got him benched. Despite his concern, he is talking about what could be his final days with the franchise. "My gut feeling tells me just to not worry about that and get these next two games over with, and then we'll see," Scaife said. "I've enjoyed my time here. I love being a Titan. They gave me my first opportunity. They helped mold Bo Scaife into being an exciting NFL player for the first six years of his career." Scaife has been playing on a year-to-year basis with Tennessee the past few seasons.

Fisher: Adding Moss 'Not A Mistake'

Sep 5, 2014 9:59 AM

Jeff Fisher says that adding Randy Moss at midseason was "not a mistake" despite his low production. Moss wasn't even targeted for the second straight game on Sunday, but Fisher says he has acted as a mentor to the team's younger receivers. "If we had to do it over, of course we would do it," Fisher said. "He has been great. Randy has been great for this team. The numbers aren't there, the production is not there, the play time is not there right now because Kenny (Britt) is coming back. But Randy is a great teammate. He works with the young guys and has fun, so it is great to have him around. We have really enjoyed him." The Titans claimed Moss off waivers from the Vikings on Nov. 3, picking up the remaining $3.4 million of his salary in the process. He has just five catches for 62 yards in six games.

Young Drops In On Titans' Win Over Texans

Oct 15, 2014 11:50 PM

The Titans ended their losing streak with a win over the Texans on Sunday, but that wasn't the whole story. Vince Young dropped in at halftime and watched all of the third quarter and a little of the fourth from the sideline. It was the first time Young had been on the sideline since suffering a season-ending thumb injury against the Redskins on Nov. 21. Titans coach Jeff Fisher, who is involved in a rather public feud with Young, said he was unaware the quarterback was on site during the game but added that he was "glad he was with his teammates."

The Titans started the season 5-2, then racked up a six-game losing streak.

Fisher Hasn't Seen Vince Young Since Nov. 21

Nov 24, 2014 3:09 AM

Titans coach Jeff Fisher admitted Thursday night that he hasn't seen troubled quarterback Vince Young since the team's Nov. 21 loss to the Redskins. Fisher added that "the locker room is much better because of [Young's] actions after the game." The coach explained that "to a man" Young's teammates disagreed with his actions. "He's probably better off not being here," Fisher said. Young lost his composure after being replaced by Kerry Collins following a thumb injury, that ended his season a few days later.

Peyton Refers To Win As Playoff Game

Oct 2, 2014 3:30 AM

Riding a three-game losing streak, the Colts came into LP Field and defeated the Titans 30-28 on Thursday night. Thanks to their recent struggles, Indianapolis needs to be very sharp down the stretch and quarterback Peyton Manning likened it to beginning the postseason early. "I think we're in a four-game playoffs, and this was a playoff game tonight," Manning said. The Colts, now 7-6, the only NFL team to reach the postseason in 10 of the last 11 seasons. If they win out, they'd take the AFC South division.

Britt May Bump Moss From Starting Lineup

Jul 15, 2014 11:05 AM

The return of Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt from injury may bump Randy Moss from the starting lineup. Britt went through a full practice on Tuesday and may be ready to reclaim the starting position he gave up when he sustained a hamstring injury on Oct. 31. "I don't really know how it's going to work," Moss said. "Hopefully, Kenny can come out there and pick up where he left off. I know him coming off a hamstring is a hard injury, especially for the position we play. "But alternating (with Britt) or whatever is going to help the team win a game, man, that's what it's going to be. Hopefully he can come out there and give us a spark and make some plays for us, and we'll see what happens Thursday."

Collins Likely To Start For Tennessee

Feb 16, 2014 5:54 AM

Kerry Collins is expected to start for the Titans on Sunday against the Jaguars. Collins is probable with a calf injury. Titans rookie quarterback Rusty Smith made his first NFL start last week for Tennessee with Vince Young on injured reserve and Collins hurt. "Kerry was better today. We're encouraged. We'll see how he warms up," coach Jeff Fisher said. "He's gotten plenty of reps. We'll see how he feels. It's different getting ready to warm up and practicing than it is getting ready to warm up and play a game. So we'll see how he is."
