Lions 'Definitely Interested' In Pacman Jones
Lions coach Jim Schwartz says that the team is "definitely interested" in free-agent cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones.
Schwartz said Wednesday at the NFL meetings that the Lions are gathering more information about Jones' level of commitment and how he could fit in Detroit's system.
"Not only did we send someone down there to work him out, but also someone to spend some time with him," Schwartz said. "I wouldn't say anything's imminent, but we're definitely interested and gathering information."
Eagles Decline To Match Titans' Offer To Babin
The Titans have landed defensive end Jason Babin after the Eagles declined to match the Tennessee's offer.
Under a right of first refusal clause the Eagles put into Babin's contract, they had one week to match the offer sheet signed Wednesday.
"We're happy our deal with Jason worked out," Titans general manager Mike Reinfeldt said in a statement. "He's a high-energy player and a good pass rusher, and he fits what we do very well. He has all offseason to come in and work with Coach [Jim] Washburn and become a part of our rotation at defensive end."
Scaife Signs $4.9M Tender With Titans
Titans tight end Bo Scaife has signed his one-year tender offer of $4.9 million, according to the Nashville City Paper.
Scaife was Tennessee's franchise player last season and made $4.46 million under that tender.
He had 45 catches for 440 yards and a touchdown in 2009.
Report: Titans Give Young $4.25M Bonus
Titans quarterback Vince Young will receive a $4.25 million roster bonus on Wednesday, his agent told the Tennessean.
Tennessee still owes Young a base salary of $7.5 million in 2010 and $8.5 million in 2011.
"I think it will probably stay as is for now," agent Major Adams said. "Vince loves Tennessee and loves playing for the Titans. He's very happy."
LenDale White: Play Me Or Trade Me
LenDale White has issued an ultimatum of sorts to the Titans.
"I did good with it for a year, I didn't complain. I backed up greatness, a guy who ran for 2,000 yards. But now that that's over I feel like ... it is time for me to start somewhere. And that is what I want to do. I want to be a starter in the NFL, not a backup," White said.
"I would definitely be interested in a trade. I don't know where, or how (the Titans) might view that, but that is what I am hoping for. I can't see me sitting in Tennessee as a backup any more. And that goes as no disrespect to the Titans or C.J., but I feel like it is time for me to get out of there. ... Sometimes it is just best to part ways."
He had 64 carries for 222 yards in 2009 as Johnson ran for 2,000 yards.
