Johnson, Finnegan Fined Not Suspended

Oct 31, 2014 5:56 PM

Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson and Titans cornerback Cortland Finnegan have each been fined $25,000 but not suspended in the wake of Sunday's fight. Johnson and Finnegan exchanged punches late in Houston's 20-0 victory over Tennessee. Finnegan set off the brawl by jabbing at Johnson's neck and face mask at the line of scrimmage. Johnson ripped off Finnegan's helmet and landed at least two punches to Finnegan's head and neck. The two spun each other, and Finnegan tore off Johnson's helmet before players and referees intervened. "He kept doing little things and I told him: 'Just because you're frustrated, you need to stop what you're doing,' " Johnson said. "I guess he thought it was funny."

Sep 11, 2014 7:14 PM

Vince Young has texted an apology to Titans coach Jeff Fisher. Young sent the message to Fisher on Tuesday in regards to both his actions and words following Sunday's loss to Washington and the quarterback's thumb injury. "I'm not a real big text guy. I'm not really into this new-age stuff," Fisher said. "I don't Twitter or tweet. But I think face to face is a man thing, OK?" Asked if a text was better than no apology at all, Fisher said: "Someone could have grabbed his phone."

Vince Young Airs His Frustration

Jul 10, 2014 5:39 PM

Titans quarterback Vince Young says his biggest issue with Jeff Fisher is that the coach lacked the confidence in him to return to the game when Young thought he could have played with his thumb injury. "It was very frustrating," Young said. Young's comments followed an emotional Sunday in which he was booed, injured his thumb, threw his shoulder pads into the stands, reportedly verbally sparred with Fisher in the locker room and stormed out of LP Field without talking to the media. Young said he knows he made mistakes dealing with the situation Sunday and didn't react the way he should have. "It was just an awkward situation," Young said. "I just want to play football. I want to win games. I want to go to the Super Bowl. That's it."
