Oct 31, 2014 5:50 PM

Penn State has not given up hope it can lure Mike Munchak for its coaching vacancy, according to a source. Munchak has repeatedly stated he would remain at Tennessee, but a source close to him said Munchak is struggling with the concept that he can "fix and make right" his alma mater. "He loves his school and his heart is torn," the source said Saturday. "He really fits what they want and need to a tee."

Chris Johnson Misses Practice, Still Eyes 1,000 Yards

Aug 20, 2014 4:55 PM

Titans running back Chris Johnson missed practice on Tuesday because of a sprained right ankle. He suffered the injury late in Tennessee's loss to Indianapolis on Sunday afternoon. "I think I should be good enough to go," Johnson said. "It's pretty sore -- I haven't ran on it and ... yesterday I was limping pretty bad. But I am doing much better." Despite a poor start, he's 70 yards from 1,000 for the season. "Any running back who runs for over 1,000 yards, it puts you up there in a group with elite running backs," Johnson said. "Even though I am not having the best of years, to go over 1,000 yards, that's something a lot of people thought probably wouldn't happen this year."

Titans Sticking With Matt Hasselbeck

Oct 3, 2014 5:08 AM

As long as he is healthy, the Titans will stick with Matt Hasselbeck as their quarterback this season. "We're still in the playoff hunt, and he's the quarterback that got us there," coach Mike Munchak said. "I think that's what you have to go with the guy who has the experience, the guy that's been in playoff situations, the guy that's been in the Super Bowl. After what he's meant to us this year and how well he has played throughout the season for us that I think we have to give him the opportunity to finish the job." Tennessee rookie Jake Locker has come off the bench in three of the last five games, and his play as the eighth pick overall has fans wanting to see him start now.

Just three minutes later, Jacob Lacey returned an interception 32 yards for another score. Titans Accuse Saints Of Blowing Whistle On Sideline

Oct 9, 2014 10:59 AM

The Titans were upset following their 22-17 loss to the Saints on Sunday afternoon. Veteran offensive linemen Jake Scott and Michael Roos said they thought a whistle was being blown from the opposing bench area late in the game, particularly during Tennessee's second-to-last offensive possession. Scott said Dean McCondichie, who produces the team's television show, "Titans All Access," has evidence of the whistle-blowing. "Dean's got it on tape," Scott said. "Somebody was blowing a whistle on the sideline. There is audio of it, so we'll let it go from there. The second to last drive I think." Said Roos: "Everybody on our side heard something, we're not sure where it came from exactly. But it sounded like from over there, and until we know more I can't really say anything else. It's not something that should be done but until we can have somebody look at it, we'll have to wait and see."
