Earl Thomas Flips Off Seahawks' Sideline While Being Carted Off Field

Sep 30, 2018 7:01 PM

Earl Thomas flipped off the sideline of the Seattle Seahawks as he was being carted off the field with his left leg in an air cast.

Thomas had been in a contract dispute with the Seahawks as they were unwilling to sign him to a long-term deal.

Thomas presumably was directing his ire towards Pete Carroll.

Seahawks Still Seeking 2019 2nd Round Pick For Earl Thomas

Sep 30, 2018 1:23 PM

The Seattle Seahawks remain open to trading Earl Thomas but they remain adamant on receiving a 2019 second round pick in return for him.

The Chiefs were unwilling to meet that price but would be interested if the Seahawks were to lower their demands. The Cowboys offered a second-round pick at one point during the preseason, but Seattle wanted more from Dallas.

Thomas is widely expected to leave the Seahawks in 2019.

Pete Carroll said earlier this week that the Seahawks and Thomas are "in a good place" despite the star safety's ongoing contract dispute with the team.

Doug Baldwin 'Ready To Go' Following Knee Injury

Sep 28, 2018 8:00 AM

Doug Baldwin says he's "ready to go" after missing the Seattle Seahawks' last two games with a knee injury.

Baldwin is hoping Seattle's training staff clears him for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals.

"Again, that's going to be their call," he said. "There's a lot of things that go into it, obviously the precautionary reasons of making sure that I'm healthy fully, so that I can go for the rest of the season, not just this game. And I get that. But as a competitor and somebody that hasn't missed games that often, who had an 89-game streak, I feel like I know my body pretty well, so I feel like I'm ready to go."

Baldwin returned to practice this week for the first time since suffering an MCL sprain early in Seattle's opener at Denver.

Pete Carroll Believes Russell Wilson Is 'Over-Trying A Little Bit'

Sep 19, 2018 8:30 AM

Pete Carroll believes part of the problem for the Seattle Seahawks is that Russell Wilson is trying too hard.

"I'm finding Russ over-trying a little bit," Carroll told ESPN 710. "He's pressing in difficult situations to try and see if he can come up with a way to make something happen instead of just getting rid of the football."

The Seahawks found themselves in several third-and-long situations against the Chicago Bears on Monday night.

"In the long yardage situations, he needs to throw the football a couple times," Carroll said. "We need to get rid of the ball and just give up on a play because it's not happening and not take an additional pressure. So that just adds up and it makes it hard on him."

Mychal Kendricks Signs One-Year Deal With Seahawks

Sep 14, 2018 8:21 AM

After being released by the Cleveland Browns following charges of insider trading, Mychal Kendricks is signing a one-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks.

Kendricks pleaded guilty last week to the charges and a sentencing hearing is set for Jan. 24.

The linebacker used tips from an acquaintance to make about $1.2 million in illegal profits on four major trading deals, federal prosecutors said.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy said Kendricks' legal situation is under review, and Kendricks is currently allowed to sign and participate in activities, including games.

Chris Carson May Have Emerged As Seattle's Lead Running Back

Sep 12, 2018 8:20 AM

The Seattle Seahawks gave Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny equal time at running back in Week 1, but that may not be the case moving forward.

Carson had 51 yards on seven carries, while Penny totaled just eight yards over the same number of rushes.

Pete Carroll praised Carson and suggested that Penny was affected by the time he missed this summer with a broken finger.

"Chris I thought looked really good," Carroll said. "He was really aggressive and did what he could with the plays that he had. Rashaad looked a little rusty to me and I visited with him about it. He really only had one good week of practice and coming back and it wasn’t enough -- he needed more work and he wasn't as responsive as he has been earlier on before he had to sit out for a while, and so he's got to work real hard to make sure that he is ready to go and we will work him in. We love the chance of getting him in there. We are going to keep looking for it. But Chris really took the lead at that position after that game."

Doug Baldwin Expected To Miss 'A Couple Weeks'

Sep 12, 2018 8:06 AM

Doug Baldwin could miss at least a couple weeks because of his latest knee injury, according to the Seattle Seahawks.

Baldwin didn't play in the second half of Seattle's season-opening loss to the Denver Broncos after suffering a reported Grade 2 partial tear of his right MCL. He missed about a month of training camp because of an injury to his left knee.

"He's really gonna go a few days at a time here," Pete Carroll said. "Let's see what happens. We'll wait and see. We don't know yet. It could be a couple weeks. It could be a couple weeks, and we'll find out. He's as tough as you get. We'll need to wait."
