Skittles Shoes Cost Marshawn Lynch $10K

Nov 26, 2014 8:40 PM

Seattle running back Marshawn Lynch's love of Skittles paid off in the form of free candy earlier this season, but now it is costing him $10,000. Lynch wore cleats with a Skittles pattern for last Sunday's game against the 49ers, which likely made the candy makers very happy. It wasn't as warmly received by the folks at the league office, though. He was fined $10,000 for wearing the shoes in violation of the league's uniform policy.

McCloughan Says Seahawks-49ers Talk Was Done Jokingly

Oct 26, 2014 1:47 PM

Seahawks executive Scot McCloughan claims that he was merely being light-hearted when he "predicted" a decisive Seattle victory over San Francisco to Yahoo! Sports. "It was done in a joking manner," McCoughan said. McCoughan was formerly the general manager of the 49ers. The article, written by Michael Silver, states McCloughan was laughing when he said, "They come to our place Christmas Eve, and we're going to beat the hell out of 'em."

Seattle Executive: 'We're Going To Beat The Hell Out Of' 49ers

Jul 22, 2014 1:26 PM

An executive with the Seahawks expects the team to defeat the 49ers in their NFC West battle on Saturday. "They come to our place Christmas Eve, and we're going to beat the hell out of 'em," Scot McCloughan told Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports. McCloughan, a senior personnel executive with Seattle, spent five years with San Francisco from 2005 to 2010 -- the last two as the 49ers general manager -- before he was abruptly fired by the team in March of 2010.

Seahawks Lose Okung For Remainder Of 2011

Oct 31, 2014 3:41 PM

The Seahawks have lost left tackle Russell Okung for the rest of the season on a play that coach Pete Carroll called "out of line." Okung suffered a torn right pectoral muscle during Seattle's 31-14 win over Philadelphia on Thursday night. The Seattle Times reported that the muscle is torn enough that it will probably require surgery to reattach it. Okung was thrown by Philadelphia defensive end Trent Cole away from a play inside the final two minutes and after the whistle had blown. When asked if it was a dirty play, Carroll said it was "a bad play." "He got grabbed under the arm and thrown down to the ground. It had nothing to do with the play. It wasn't a late hit," Carroll said. "It might look like he was trying to disengage and that might be what they say and all, but it was really late and it was really out of line unfortunately."

Skittles Rewards Marshawn Lynch For Exposure

Oct 31, 2014 5:55 PM

Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, who ran for 148 yards and two touchdowns in a beating of the Eagles on Thursday night, was rewarded for something he did on the sidelines. Following Lynch's rugged, 15-yard touchdown burst in the first quarter, NFL Network's cameras caught him snacking on a handful of Skittles, a habit that began during his days at Oakland Technical High School. "Skittles is offering Marshawn Lynch a 24-month free supply & a customized dispenser for his locker for last night's exposure," CNBC's Darren Rovell tweeted Friday morning.
