Bill Belichick To Decide What To Offer Tom Brady

Feb 28, 2020 12:19 PM

Bill Belichick is expected to decide what type of offer to extend to Tom Brady this offseason.

Brady is currently approaching his free agency with the expectation of leaving the Patriots.

But at least one source wonders if Robert Kraft will intervene and force Belichick to do whatever it takes to keep Brady as some believe the New England owner did in 2017 when the Patriots traded Jimmy Garoppolo to the San Francisco 49ers for a second round pick.

Tom Brady Entering Free Agency With Intention Of Leaving Patriots

Feb 27, 2020 11:47 AM

Tom Brady currently believes he will enter free agency with the intention of playing somewhere other than the New England Patriots.

There is a belief, however, that the Patriots will have an opportunity to convince Brady to re-sign with the franchise. At this point, Brady is evaluating his options with the intention of leaving.

Brady and Bill Belichick have yet to schedule a meeting.

Brady cannot begin negotiating with other teams until the NFL's legal tampering period opens March 16. Brady turns 43 in August and threw for 4,057 yards with 24 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2019.

Giants Mentioned As Potential Suitor For Tom Brady

Feb 27, 2020 8:52 AM

The New York Giants have been mentioned by sources at the NFL Scouting Combine as a team with potential interest in Tom Brady.

Brady has also been linked to the Tennessee Titans and Oakland Raiders in rumors.

The Giants may come as a surprise to some after they used the sixth overall pick on Daniel Jones last spring.

New York has plenty of cap space to make Brady a strong offer.

Tom Brady May Have Interested Teams Come To Him

Feb 18, 2020 9:26 AM

Tom Brady may bypass the traditional route in free agency and have interested teams come to him, according to a report.

When it's time to negotiate with teams, Brady "may try to set up meetings at one location instead of creating a circus."

When Peyton Manning was on the market, he traveled to visit teams. Brady's reported preference is rare in the NFL, but something that has become commonplace in the NBA.

Tom Brady, Patriots Have Yet To Engage In Contract Talks

Feb 12, 2020 8:32 AM

The New England Patriots and Tom Brady have yet to engage in contract talks as of late last week, according to sources.

Brady is on record of saying there is an open dialogue between him and the Patriots. The situation does not have any animosity at this point in time.

The Patriots are expected to push for substantial discussions before the start of the 2020 league year on March 18th.

The Patriots currently project to have about $29 million in cap space.

Brady has remained close to former offensive coordinator Charlie Weis, who relayed Brady's single-mindedness on trying to win another Super Bowl.

“I texted him when they picked the top 100 … and said ‘Congrats.’ He said ‘For what?’ I said for being part of the top 100 and then on top of it, [some in the media] picked you to be the starter," said Weis. "He goes, ‘You know the only thing I’m worrying about is a ring.’ That kind of sums it up. He wants to win another championship. That’s why he’s still playing. He wouldn’t play for money at this point.”

The Las Vegas Raiders and Los Angeles Chargers are two teams expected to pursue Brady if he becomes a free agent.

Bill Belichick Prefers To Keep Tom Brady, Can Easily Fathom Saying Bye

Feb 6, 2020 4:00 PM

Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots would prefer to keep Tom Brady in free agency.

"At a price, yeah," said Tom E. Curran on WEEI. "From all I've gathered, he would prefer to have Tom playing QB in 2020...if it comes to a crossroads, [Belichick] can easily get his mind around saying goodbye [to Brady] as well..."

The Patriots don't have a quarterback in waiting to replace Brady, but veterans like Marcus Mariota and Andy Dalton could be acquired.
