Inglewood Stadium Complex Estimated To Cost Nearly $5 Billion

Mar 29, 2018 12:36 PM

The estimated cost of the entire Inglewood stadium project that will house the Rams and Chargers is approaching $5 billion.

That estimate covers construction of the stadium, nearby parking, a 6,000-seat performance theatre, infrastructure and other aspects of the larger 298-acre retail, office and entertainment district that the stadium will anchor.

The cost of the stadium alone was originally projected to cost $2.6 billion.

The NFL will also make the area their West Coast home base.

The privately funded project will host the Super Bowl LVI in 2022 and the opening and closing ceremonies for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

“As home to the Rams and Chargers, and now NFL Media, the LA Stadium and Entertainment District will be an attraction for NFL fans year-round,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.  “Thanks to Stan’s vision, we know Hollywood Park will be the place to be – not just for football, but for entertainment and events, for living and for working.  We are excited for NFL Media to join this transformative project.”

Giants Seek At Least Two First Round Picks For Odell Beckham Jr.

Mar 29, 2018 12:36 PM

The New York Giants are seeking at least first round picks in exchange for Odell Beckham Jr. The Giants insist, however, they are not shopping Beckham in trade talks.

There have been reports that Beckham would not play this season without an extension, while another report indicated the Rams were pursuing a trade for him.

"Neither Odell nor his agent have contacted us regarding either report," Gettleman said Tuesday at the NFL owners meetings. "So to be clear: I'm not going to respond to questions about either report, and as I stated earlier, every decision I make is going to be in the best interest of the New York football Giants."

While there have been some off-field issues with Beckham, he has been widely considered a good teammate and a hard worker.

"The kid works his fanny off," Dave Gettleman said. "His [ankle] rehab is going terrific. He sends us pictures, sends us a video about him running. He's an excellent worker."

Odell Beckham Has Reportedly Told Rams Players He'd Welcome Trade

Mar 28, 2018 2:09 PM

It remains to be seen if the New York Giants have real interest in trading Odell Beckham, Jr., but it's clear that the Los Angeles Rams would like to acquire the wide receiver.

According to a source, Beckham has told a few Rams players that "he wants in." The report, from the New York Daily News, is vague. It could be that he wants to remain with the Giants, but if traded, would be interested in the Rams and young quarterback Jared Goff.

Any interested team would likely want to sign Beckham to a long-term extension. He's entering the final year of his contract at $8.4 million.

Rams Discussing Odell Beckham Jr. Trade With Giants

Mar 26, 2018 4:47 PM

The Los Angeles Rams have approached the New York Giants about trading for Odell Beckham Jr.

Beckham lives in Los Angeles in the offseason.

The Giants are asking for a first round pick plus additional assets. The asking price is not believed to be two first round picks.

Snead is one of only two GMs who have made trades already with Dave Gettleman as Giants GM, and the other is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Jason Licht, who just re-signed his own wideout Mike Evans to a megadeal himself.

Beckham doesn’t have a no-trade clause, but his familiarity and affinity for the area could help him acclimate better than he would in other markets.

The Denver Broncos have agreed to trade Aqib Talib to the Los Angeles Rams for a fifth round pick.

The Broncos also discussed a trade of Talib with the 49ers and Patriots.

"New England, where of course he had a lot of success with Bill Belichick and the Patriots. And Los then Angeles with the Rams, where he would get to play under Wade Phillips, his former defensive coordinator in Denver."

The Rams have also added Marcus Peters and Sam Shields at cornerback this offseason.
