Rams Open To Trading 2nd Overall Pick

Oct 30, 2014 11:58 AM

The St. Louis Rams own the second overall pick and are open to trading down.

“(We have) not really had any discussion with anybody, but that doesn’t mean to say we won’t," Fisher said.

The Rams traded the second overall pick in 2012 to the Washington Redskins in a blockbuster deal that won't likely be matched due to how valuable Robert Griffin III was in that draft.

"But I think it’s highly unlikely that even if we did trade out that would we get the value that we did the first time around," Fisher said.

Mark Sanchez has received interest from the St. Louis Rams.

"I'd say that there is interest. I can't say how much. But there certainly would be interest,'' Rams coach Jeff Fisher told USA TODAY Sports Sunday at the league's owners meetings. "I don't have a backup with experience on the roster right now."

The Rams' current backup is Austin Davis.

Sanchez worked with current Rams' offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.
