The Rams have agreed to terms with center Jason Brown on a five-year deal worth $37.5 million.
Of that amount, $20 million is reportedly guaranteed to Brown, who played with the Ravens last season.
"We stressed even during the season about getting bigger on the offensive line, more physical, and he fits everything," general manager Billy Devaney said Friday. "(Jason's) smart, big, young, and of strong character.
"The arrow's still going up on him ? an ascending player. So there's a lot of good traits about him. And Butler ? the same thing. He's in the prime of his career."

Rams High On Crabtree At 2nd Pick?
The Rams are still very impressed with Texas Tech wide receiver Michael Crabtree, who has dropped on some draft boards due to his newfound foot injury.
"The thing that he has going for him is you put on the tape and that kind of erases a lot of the question marks that people have," Rams general manager Billy Devaney said.
Crabtree wasn't able to run the 40-yard-dash, a workout that many NFL executives hold as invaluable when evaluating wide receivers.
"For a lot of people that wasn't a big concern," Devaney said. "What people wanted to see was him run conventional pass routes that you don't really see (in the Texas Tech offense). That's just the nature of the offense. It looks like he can do it. But you know how we are."
Could Holt Be Included In Rams' Rebuild?
Rumors are beginning to circulate that wide receiver Torry Holt could be included in new coach Steve Spagnuolo's rebuilding process.
If St. Louis does decide to part ways with Holt, expect multiple teams, including the Titans, to show interest.
