Spagnuolo Tells Rams To Expect Tough Camp

Sep 7, 2014 3:37 PM

Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo wants his players to prepare for a tough training camp in late July. "The first five days are definitely a bear, the way it's laid out, the times of practices, the length of practices," Spagnuolo said of the workouts. "Typically, if you don't come in shape and in the right frame of mind, you run the risk of getting injured and not being up to speed for what we want to do. After that, it doesn't get that much easier, but it tends to thin out a little bit and they're able to survive."

Will Kroenke Make A Play For Rams?

Sep 7, 2014 3:37 PM

Stan Kroenke isn't saying much, but many believe that he could make a play for control of the Rams. Kroenke, who is worth an estimated $3 billion, already owns 40 percent of the Rams. He also owns the NBA's Nuggets and the NHL's Avalanche, along with the Pepsi Center in Denver. His plans are hard to project, because he showed little to no interest in the Nuggets and Avalanches before making a play at the end of the selling process.

Spagnuolo Wants Rams To Focus On NFC West

Sep 9, 2014 9:51 AM

Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo wants his team to focus on beating their divison opponents this season. "Starting on Wednesday, Thursday and going into the following week, it will be concentrating on the NFC West teams," Spagnuolo said after the team's final practice of its second minicamp on Saturday. "We'll take a team a day and probably two on Seattle since that's the opener, and we'll go from there." Spagnuolo and his staff had been focused on bigger issues prior to the comments. "Right now, our primary focus is on those things you really can't measure. I'm talking about that a lot, the team chemistry, the unity and I'm always pounding that," the first-year coach said.

Rams running back Steven Jackson wants to be a more complete player this season. "Of course, I want to be healthy, but I don't think it's really something you can prepare for," Jackson said. "A torn groin or a torn hamstring, it just happens." Jackson added that he is "stronger" this summer, and that the team's new coaching staff has him better prepared. "I'm working on being a complete running back," he said. "I've said that in the past, but this year I'm really getting detailed coaching."

Rams Won't Rule Out Disgruntled Players

Sep 24, 2014 10:09 PM

Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo wants to his team to have good character, but says they will review players with rough history on a case-by-case basis. "I don't want to put a big red stoplight on," Spagnuolo said. "We can't tag people like that. I think it's important to know the person. We all make mistakes. I've made them. If you're only going to have choir boys in here and people that were perfect in their life and never made a mistake we might not be able to put a team together. To say the words 'zero tolerance,' I don't know if that's 100 percent true, but I will say this: I think it's very important to learn about the person and if we don't think the person fits, then we move on to somebody else. We want people who fit what we're trying to do here."
