Flacco Believes Zorn's Firing Was An 'Attack' On His Performance

Oct 31, 2014 3:41 PM

Joe Flacco isn't happy that the Ravens fired quarterbacks coach Jim Zorn and believes the decision was an "attack" on his performance this season. "I also feel like a little bit like I'm being attacked," Flacco told the Carroll County Times. "You fire the quarterback coach. Usually when your fire a position coach, it's because you're not really happy with how that position did. And when I look back on my season and our season as a team, I mean, we won 13 games. I felt like I had a pretty good year and you're firing the quarterback coach? It's kind of an attack on me, I feel like." Flacco threw for 3,622 yards and 26 touchdowns with 10 interceptions and had a career-best 93.6 passer rating. "I'm not happy about it," Flacco added about Zorn's firing. "They know that I'm not happy about it. It's not news to them. ... I'm not going to be happy about it, for a long time. This year will be what it is. We're going to be successful this year. I would have just liked him to be a part of it. He would have liked to be a part of it. And I think it would have been good for him to be a part of it."

Lewis, Dockett Call Out Cromartie For Labor Comments

Sep 3, 2014 9:34 PM

Ray Lewis and Darnell Dockett want people to know that Antonio Cromartie doesn't speak for all players. Cromartie called out the leaders of the NFL and the NFL Players Association earlier this week. "To me, you need to stop bitching about it," Cromartie said, "and if you wanna say you're gonna get into a room and meet and greet, and say you're gonna do what you need to do, then do it. Don't just talk about it." NFLPA is preparing for a potential lockout in early March if the two sides cannot come to an agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement. "We have leaders," Dockett said. "We know what is fair and the players are behind our leadership." Lewis wants to be clear that he supports DeMaurice Smith, the union's executive director. "Great leaders are servants first," Lewis said. "That is who our leaders are. Players are not going to turn on each other. We are blessed with what we have and it is on all of us to keep it fair. I'm resolved to do that."

Search Resumes For Body Of Reed's Brother

Oct 6, 2014 10:29 PM

A private search team called in by Ravens safety Ed Reed and family members took to the Mississippi River at first light on Monday to search for the body of Reed's missing brother. Texas EquuSearch on Sunday had located what it believed to be the body of Brian Reed, 28, tangled in debris about 20 miles northwest of New Orleans, but Kenner Police Lt. Wayne McInnis said divers were unable to find it. "We had the perfect image," said Tim Miller, director of EquuSearch. "There's no doubt it was him but it was in an area that has so much debris that doing anything there, it's really hard." The search continued where the man believed to be Brian Reed went in on Jan. 7, when he apparently jumped into the river after being confronted by a deputy sheriff.
