Ravens Interested In Pryor As Receiver?

Jun 7, 2014 10:53 PM

There is a possibility that the Ravens could have interest in former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor as a wide receiver. Anquan Boldin, who was a star prep quarterback, could be a perfect mentor for Pryor. "If you can talk him into being a wide receiver, there is no better guy to be around than Anquan Boldin," ESPN's John Clayton told BaltimoreRavens.com. "Having Boldin coach him up – and I know this from talking with [Arizona Cardinals receivers] Early Doucet and Steve Breaston – his influence on wide receivers is as good as anybody in football. Maybe the best in the last several years."

Kindle 'Extra Hungry' To Show Ravens His Worth

Aug 7, 2014 2:24 PM

Ravens linebacker Sergio Kindle is motivated to prove his worth to the team after missing all of last season with a head injury. "No, I don't think we'll do long-term right now," agent Joel Segal said. "Once Sergio shows he's the Sergio Kindle who was the special player at Texas, that he's healthy, that he's ready to roll, the difference-maker that we know he will be if he's healthy, I think at that point, hopefully, we'll have a conversation. "Serg was obviously on a small contract (a one-year deal last season) and, hopefully, once he's healthy and ready to go, it will be a contract we expect. ... He has been working out hard, he's obviously extra hungry. He's focused, ready. You know, now he's just got to get some contact and show everybody that he's the old Sergio Kindle." A second-round pick of the Ravens in the 2010 NFL Draft, Kindle was at a house party last summer when he fell down two flights of stairs, fracturing his skull.

The Baltimore Sun reported Friday that Ngata has shed 25 pounds from his imposing frame, down to a lithe 325.

Reed: 'We Wanted Rex As Coach In 2008'

Apr 29, 2014 3:35 AM

John Harbaugh has found success as coach of the Ravens, leading the team to the playoffs in all three of his seasons. But one of Baltimore's stars acknowledged Friday that many of the player's pulled for Rex Ryan to land the job in 2008. Ed Reed didn't hold back this week when explaining his affection for Ryan, now the Jets' outspoken coach. "(Ryan was) like a dad, like a brother, man," Reed told ESPN, in comments reported by The Baltimore Sun. "We wanted Rex as the head coach in Baltimore. We did not want him to leave. It hurt when he left (in 2009). We knew he was a great coach. There was a reason why that defense was the way it was."

Suggs Supports Rookie Wage Scale

May 30, 2014 5:35 PM

Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs has switched sides and come out in support of a rookie wage scale. Suggs told "Sports with Coleman" on Fox 1370 Sports Radio in Baltimore that he hopes such a pay scale is in the next collective bargaining agreement, although he would have been against it when he was new to the league. "When I was coming in as a rookie, I thought (the idea of a rookie pay scale) was the biggest baloney I had ever heard," Suggs said. "But now being a vet, being on the other side of the fence, and seeing the vets that have been in the league for years, have longevity and still haven't reached that payday, I think it's pretty unfair, and definitely the rookies should have to earn their money. "You'd have rookies that would come in and show up to work with their blue-collar shirts and their hard hats. We would have less prima donnas in the league."

Ed Reed: I'm Not 100 Percent Yet

Oct 15, 2014 11:43 PM

Ravens safety Ed Reed says he has yet to fully recover from the bumps and bruises of the 2010 NFL season. "I'm still not 100 percent (healthy)," Reed said. "But I'm 100 percent mentally at this point as far as everything I can do. I know my limitations. I still have a lot of work to do before the season starts." Reed, a five-time All-Pro selection, had hip surgery before the 2010 season and was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list, missing the first six games.

Flacco Ticked Off By Woodley Comments

Aug 9, 2014 9:40 PM

Joe Flacco isn't happy with recent comments by Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley. Woodley said that Flacco and the Ravens wouldn't win a Super Bowl "in this lifetime." "[Woodley] obviously doesn't know what he's talking about," Flacco told Keith Mills and Pete Gilbert on WBAL Saturday. "At some level I don't care [what Woodley says] because what does that really mean? But there is another level where it does kind of piss you off a little bit."

Eagles, Cowboys, Ravens Are Favorites For Asomugha

Aug 12, 2014 11:04 PM

The Eagles, Cowboys and Ravens appear to be the favorites to land free-agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha once free agency begins. Free agency has been delayed by the NFL lockout, but Asomugha is expected to command top dollar and tons of attention once a labor agreement is reached. Peter Kings of Sports Illustrated labeled Asomugha as the best defensive free agent since Deion Sanders.

Harbaugh Admits Baltimore's Moderate Interest In Asomugha

Jun 9, 2014 3:20 AM

Ravens coach John Harbaugh hinted at interest in free-agent cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha recently. Asomugha should command top dollar on the open market. Harbaugh said he has been asked about "one of the top corners" -- we can assume he meant Asomugha -- but he's not a top priority. "Yeah, we're interested. We're interested in all the good players," Harbaugh said. "[But] I like our players. To me, the No. 1 priority is our players. I want our players re-signed. And that's Ozzie’s No. 1 priority. ... If we can't get every one of them signed, then we'll have to look outside or we'll go with the younger guys, depending on who those guys are."
