Richard Sherman Expected To Shadow Dez Bryant

Oct 31, 2015 4:01 PM

Earl Thomas is in favor of Richard Sherman lining up against the opposing team's best wide receiver, regardless of which side of the field he's on.

Sherman is expected to do so this Sunday against Richard Sherman.

"Of course," Earl Thomas said when asked if he supports the strategy. "Both hands up.

"I think the big thing about that is it’s a clear conscience for me when he’s moving around and he’s following a No. 1 guy. That’s all I can say about that. I don’t have to worry about the No. 1 guy."

Sherman has been traveling more this year. He matched up with Bengals wide receiver A.J. Green for three-plus quarters. And last week against the San Francisco 49ers, he stuck with Torrey Smith and held him without a catch.

Earl Thomas: I Want To Say A Lot Of Things But I Can't

Oct 20, 2015 12:55 PM

Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas were questioning each other after allowing Greg Olsen's game-winning touchdown in Week 6.

"We made a mistake on the calls," Pete Carroll said after the game. "Guys got confused on the signal. So it was unfortunate obviously and they got an easy play. ... No, you can go ahead and try to figure that part out. They didn't get the same signal and that's what happened."

Thomas confirmed what Carroll said, but it's not clear if the call was passed to the other players.

"It was some fluke type of stuff," said Thomas. "I don't know, we had a lot of stuff going on. We got half the defense playing this and half the defense playing that. This is what happens when you don't communicate ... I think Sherm was so close to the sideline, he got the correct call, but we didn't get it echoed to the whole defense."

The Seahawks have blown two-score leads in two straight games.

"I want to say a lot of things, but I can't," Thomas said. "This game is beautiful, but it's so ugly."

Derrick Coleman Suspended By Seahawks Indefinitely

Oct 15, 2015 6:56 PM

Derrick Coleman has been suspended indefinitely by the Seattle Seahawks pending investigation on charges of vehicular assault and hit-and-run.

Bellevue police chief Steve Mylett told reporters that the officers performed a sobriety test and blood tests on Coleman.

"There was enough evidence there to lead us to suspect that perhaps drugs or alcohol could have been involved," Mylett said.

The incident occurred at 6:20 p.m. Wednesday when Coleman's pickup hit the back of a Honda Civic.

The collision caused the Civic to turn upside down, and the truck was turned on its side, Mylett said.

The driver of the Civic suffered injuries that were serious but not life-threatening.

Coleman fled the scene and was found by police two blocks away.

Derrick Fox and Mark Bloom, Coleman's agents, released a statement that indicated Coleman might have fallen asleep at the wheel.

"On the evening of October 15, 2015, Seattle Seahawk Fullback Derrick Coleman, Jr. was involved in a two-car collision soon after leaving a team meeting. While the facts of the case are still being determined, it seems Derrick may have fallen asleep while driving home from a Seahawks' facility.

"The health and well-being of all involved is our primary concern, and we are thankful to report that both parties are expected to make a full recovery. We will continue to work closely with the local officials while a full investigation is being conducted."

Russell Wilson Losing Weight To Offset Seattle's Struggling O-Line

Oct 11, 2015 12:28 PM

Russell Wilson has focused on cutting weight and speed training due to the issues with the Seattle Seahawks' offensive line.

Seattle dealt Max Unger to the Saints in the offseason for Jimmy Graham, which further hurt an already decimated offensive line.

“The quarterback-center exchanges are the most critical issue with the line,” one source said. “They have to be on the same page and the ball has to be delivered where it is supposed to be.”

Wilson is looking to get as close to his college weight of 208 as he can.

Marshawn Lynch Out For Week 5

Oct 10, 2015 3:59 PM

Marshawn Lynch has been ruled out for the Seattle Seahawks in their Week 5 game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Lynch hasn't played since tweaking his hamstring against the Bears in Week 3.

"He is running very well, but he's just getting over it," Carroll said Friday. "We just have to wait a couple more days."

Cosell: Seahawks Have Most Remedial Passing Game In NFL

Oct 7, 2015 1:49 PM

Russell Wilson currently ranks 11th in passer rating at 101.2.

Wilson's ability to make plays with his legs and their running game offsets their poor offensive line and simple scheme.

"The Seahawks have most remedial pass game in the NFL," said Cosell. It's elementary. We marvel at it. Simple, unsophisticated."

K.J. Wright Should Have Been Flagged On Calvin Johnson Fumble Play

Oct 6, 2015 12:00 AM

K.J. Wright batted the ball out of the end zone after Calvin Johnson's fumble toward the end of the Seattle Seahawks' win over the Detroit Lions.

Wright committed an illegal bat of the ball, which should have given the Lions back the ball where they lost possession.

The Seahawks received the ball as a touchback.

Rule 12, Section 4, Article 1(b) applies the term “illegal bat” when “any player bats or punches a loose ball (that has touched the ground) in any direction, if it is in either end zone.”

An illegal bat is not a reviewable play.
