Eagles Promote Catherine Raiche To VP Of Football Operations

May 28, 2021 8:43 AM

The Philadelphia Eagles announced changes to their football operations department Thursday, including a historic one -- the promotion of Catherine Raiche to vice president of football operations.

It's believed Raiche is now the highest-ranking female personnel executive in NFL history.

That title was previously held by Kelly Kleine, who was named executive director of football operations and special adviser to general manager George Paton by the Denver Broncos earlier this month.

Jalen Hurts 'Not Above' Competition At Quarterback

May 20, 2021 8:13 AM

Jalen Hurts says he is "not above" a competition when asked whether he feels the coaching staff has committed to him as the starting quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles.

Nick Sirianni has not publicly named Hurts the starter, citing the importance of creating competition at every position.

"I value everything that Coach has brought here," Hurts said. "I remember back in my days at Alabama, Coach [Nick] Saban, hearing him talk about discipline, commitment, effort, toughness and pride, having these core values that he is trying to instill in the team. In the end, it all worked out for the team.

"You see Coach Nick Sirianni coming in preaching connection, accountability, competition, fundamentals and football IQ, preaching all these things. I know in all those different avenues, all those different values and principles that we're trying to instill here in Philly, no one is above that and everybody has to go to work. So for me, I know rent is due every day. It's always been that way for me ... and when that rent is due, I don't plan on missing no payments."

The only other quarterbacks on Philadelphia's roster are Joe Flacco and rookie Jamie Newman.

May 10, 2021 9:39 AM

The New York Giants were reportedly all-in on drafting DeVonta Smith in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Those plans were ruined when the Philadelphia Eagles traded up to take Smith 10th overall, one pick ahead of the Giants.

"The Giants wanted DeVonta bad," an SEC defensive coordinator said. "They were pretty livid when Philly moved in front of them."
