The Philadelphia Eagles "have made a lot of phone calls" about trying to trade back into the top 10 of this week's NFL Draft, according to a report.
Less than a month ago the Eagles traded down from No. 6 to No. 12.
Howie Roseman generally checks out all trade options, but a move back into the Top 10 wouldn't be all that surprising. Philadelphia could target one of the draft's top wide receivers or grab one of the top cornerbacks.
Justin Jefferson thought the Philadelphia Eagles were going to draft him 21st overall last spring, but they passed on him in favor of fellow wide receiver Jalen Reagor.
Jefferson then went 22nd overall to the Minnesota Vikings.
"Leading up to the draft, you know, they had all of those mock drafts and people sharing their opinions on who is going to go where," Jefferson told GQ. "A lot of people had me going to Philly. And, I thought I was going to Philly. Honestly. The funny part is, Philly was on the board and then Minnesota called me. At first, I thought it was Philly. But, I answered the phone and it was Minnesota. It's crazy how all of that happened and everything. But, I'm definitely, definitely, definitely excited that I'm on the Vikings rather than Philly."
The Philadelphia Eagles are considering all possibilities as the NFL Draft nears.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports that the Eagles could move back up if a quarterback prospect falls within reach.
"If Trey Lance slides, if Justin Fields slides and the Eagles have a high grade on them, they could make that move," Fowler said on Sportscenter. "People I've talked to think the Eagles could go quarterback somewhere in this draft just to either get insurance for Jalen Hurts or competition for Jalen Hurts."
The Eagles moved down from No. 6 to No. 12 in a trade with the Miami Dolphins earlier this month.
The Philadelphia Eagles have bolstered their defense by signing linebacker Eric Wilson.
Wilson, 26, tied for the league lead among linebackers with three interceptions in 2020, and he also had three sacks and eight passes defended to go with 122 tackles for the Minnesota Vikings.
Philadelphia also re-signed Jordan Howard to a one-year deal.
