Jalen Hurts Takes Blame For Eagles' Blowout Loss To Cowboys

Sep 28, 2021 8:55 AM

The Philadelphia Eagles lost 41-21 to the Dallas Cowboys on Monday night in a game that exposed many of the team's weaknesses.

Jalen Hurts went 25-for-39 for 326 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions. The Eagles failed to score on their first seven offensive possessions, while the Cowboys went up-and-down the field with ease.

"I didn't do a good enough job of leading," Hurts said after the loss. "I didn't do a good enough job of running our offense, of doing the things that I need to do. So it's on me. This one's on me.

"I didn't do my job. I didn't do my job and we didn't win the game. When I do my job, we win the game. I didn't do my job."

Zach Ertz Ready To Move Past Offseason Drama With Eagles

Sep 2, 2021 8:48 AM

Zach Ertz has expressed forgiveness toward the Philadelphia Eagles and emphasized his commitment to the city and the organization following a rocky offseason that involved plenty of trade talks.

"Like I've said all along, this is the place I want to be, this is the place I want to retire. Those feeling haven't changed," said Ertz, speaking for the first time publicly since January.

"I'm moving on from everything that happened this offseason. There have been apologies, there have been things that we've mended and, ultimately, I'm here, I'm excited to be here and I'm excited to be a member of this football team."

Friction between Ertz and the Eagles began last offseason after contract-extension talks broke off. The tight end dealt with an ankle injury in 2020 and had career lows in yards (335) and touchdowns (one).
